He was a retired fireman, having worked for Hercules for 36 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served on the USS Hornet during World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mucie Peters Martin. Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Brenda Lee and Henry Mosby of Montvale; granddaughter, Leigh Ann Mosby of Montvale; grandson, Robert E. Martin III of Roanoke. Graveside services will be held Saturday, September 7, 1996, at 11 a.m. at the Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin with Dr. William H. Jackson officiating. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 446, Christiansburg, Va. 24073. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Seaver-Sanders & Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. on September 6, 1996.3

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thurman and son, Leon. Left to cherish her memory are daughters, Helen Turner and Diane and Charlie Hunt; grandchildren, Lisa and Randy Williams, Steven Hunt, and Kimberly Hunt; great-grandchildren, Bobby Hand, III and Travis Williams; special friends and neighbors, Posey and Rita Weddle. Special thanks to Pheasant Ridge Nursing Home for all their care and concern during her time there and Jay Turner for all his visits, kindness, and for bringing her food. Graveside services will be held at Copper Hill Church of the Brethren Cemetery on Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Arrangements are being handled by Lotz Funeral Home in Salem. on May 31, 2008.5
