Also surviving are two sisters and brothers-in-law, Treva and the late Warren Cannaday of Willis, Va., Sharlene and Russell West of Poolesville, Md., and one brother, Everett and Gloria Hollandsworth of Salem, Va; two sisters-in-law, Maxine Hall of Indian Valley and Patricia Hall of Leesburg; Bill's sister, Iris Wiltshire and husband William of Richmond, Va; two Godsons, Brian and Jason Cody, both of Gaithersburg, Md. Geneva was truly loved by many nieces and nephews. She was a devoted member of the Northfork Baptist Church for 47 years and was employed by Imperial Reading (Blue Ridge) Overall Factory in Christiansburg, Va. for 44 years. The family will receive friends at Horne Funeral Home from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday evening. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, November 29, 2003 in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Fred Brugger and Rev. Olen Gardner, with interment to follow in the North Fork Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials be made to the North Fork Baptist Church. The Bryson family is being served by Horne Funeral & Cremation Service, Christiansburg, Va. (382-2612) on November 29, 2003.2

She graduated as a Registered Nurse from Lewis-Gale in 1946. Her love of nursing was extended to many families through her Private Duty Nursing care. Her greatest contributions were made during her years as a 3-11 staff nurse at Lewis-Gale in both the Roanoke and Salem locations. She found deep satisfaction in assisting the patients and enjoyed the lasting friendships made during her many years of dedication to her calling. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Luther E. Terry and William M. (Pete) Terry. Mrs. Deyerle was a loving, devoted and strong mother, and is survived by her daughters, Linda Deyerle Locklier and husband, John, of Rock Hill, S.C. and Lucy Elizabeth "Beth" Deyerle and Wayne Burton, of Roanoke. Her family also includes dear friend Sylvia Reed; granddaughters, Sebri D. Leah and Autumn L. Leah, both of Richmond; grandson, John "J." Locklier III and wife, Olivia, of Morgantown, W.Va; great-grandson, Kaidan Berkley Leah of Richmond; special nephew, Robert Deyerle; and loving nieces, Cheryl Snead, Martha Faye Deyerle, and Bonita Terry. She held a special place in her heart for her neighbor and friend, Charley Begley. The family is deeply appreciative of the exemplary care and compassion extended by the staff of Our Lady of the Valley. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Gentle Shepherd Hospice, 6045 Peters Creek Road, Roanoke, Va., 24019. The family will receive visitors from 6 to 9 p.m. on Monday, August 10, 2009 at Oakey's North Chapel. The graveside service and interment will be private. on August 10, 2009.2

Born Oct. 18, 1896 in Elliot, Va., she was a daughter of the late Tom and Minnie Jane East. She was a member of the Lester Church of God. Her husband, Lacy, preceded her in death in 1966. She is survived by three sons, Calvin, Baltimore, Md., Donald, Lester, and Dale, Coal City; a brother, Sam East, Elliot, Va; a sister, Mabel Nowlin, Blacksburg, Va; and nine grandchildren. on January 30, 1973.3

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ila Ruth Light Higginbotham and his son Henry Harrison Higginbotham, Jr. He is survived by his loving companion of 6 years Diane Kegley; son Donald (Krystal) Higginbotham, daughter, Becky (John) Rodda and daughter in law Barbara Higginbotham of Lakeland, FL, along with seven grandchildren Leah Beth Higginbotham, Amy Higginbotham, Andrew Higginbotham, Kayla Stover, Danae Higginbotham, Jason Rodda and Leslie Blondell; eight great grandchildren Grace, Ila, Evelyn, Johnny Rodda and Kate, Ella, Nolan, and Nora Blondell. on January 1, 2013.6

     Emma Ernestine Cook Emma Ernestine Cook Light, 97, passed away at her home in Alderson, WVA on October 12, 2018, after a period of declining health. She was the daughter of Rev. Lucian Cook and Malinda Caroline Brown who preceded her in death. She was married to Burchell Marion Light for 68 Years before his death in 2007. She is survived by two sons Steve Marion Light (Betty) and Henry Darrell Light (Janice) and daughter Emma Carole Light Stephens (John). Another daughter, Drema Gail Light predeceased her. She has been lovingly cared for by her granddaughter Crystal Gomez for the past eleven years. She is also survived by seven additional grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren. She was a grandmother who loved to feed her family and all visiting relatives. She was known for preparing more food for meals than many could eat including pies, cakes and cinnamon rolls for her grandchildren. She loved sitting on her front porch watching the Alderson Fourth of July Parade with children and grandchildren at her feet or on the steps. She was a member of Old Greenbrier Baptist Church, in Alderson for many years until her health confined her to her home. Burial will be in the Alderson Cemetery at a later date with a private family service.2 She was buried at Alderson Cemetery, Alderson, Greenbrier Co., West Virginia.3,2 She was born on December 31, 1921 at West Virginia.3 As of August 18, 1939,her married name was Light.1 She married Burchell Marion Light, son of Hubert Cyrus Light and Rosalia R.
