Born June 3, 1928, he was the son of the late John and Annie Clifford Foster. Mr. Foster enjoyed hunting, fishing and doing yard work. He was a retired coal miner and was a member of the Terry Baptist Church. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Irene Foster; his second wife, Marie Frances Foster; one son, James Edward Foster, Jr; infant daughter, Sandra Foster; a sister, Ruth Hall; and three brothers, Pete Cheslock, Shirley Foster and Benny Ray Foster. Those left to cherish his memory include three sons, Terry Lynn Foster of Charlotte, N.C., Douglas Ray Foster and James David Foster, both of Beckley; four daughters, Debra Kay Tucker and husband, John, and Donna Sue Souder and husband, David, all of Mt. Hope, Karen Ann Akers and Angela Marie Gunther and husband, Brian, all of Beckley; eight grandchildren, Mary Souder, Rebecca Martin, Heather Tucker, Trevor Hopkins, Shelby Foster, Levi Foster, B. J. Gunther and Roger Akers, III; and a special friend, Mary Williams. He will be sadly missed by a host of family and friends. Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Friday, April 18, 2008, at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley. Friends may gather with the family at the graveside one hour prior to the service. Friends and family will serve as pallbearers. on April 15, 2008.3
