Mr. Elmore was a 42 year employee of the BF Goodrich / UTC Plant at Union where he worked maintenance. He attended Union High School and also attended St. John’s and Dropping Lick United Methodist Churches. Oral was a sports enthusiast. He enjoyed getting to hunt and fish with his grandkids. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by six brothers, Vernon, James, Lewis, Earl, and Dallas Elmore and Leroy Vance; three sisters, Bonnie Ridgeway, Ruby McNeely, and Mary Sue Poe. Survivors include, his wife of 42 years, Brenda Radford Elmore of Union, WV; one son, Eric S. Elmore and wife Dawn of Union, WV; one daughter, Beth Bear and husband Scott of Rural Retreat, VA; grandchildren, Ian and Mya Bear “his babies”; one brother, Tom Elmore and wife Ellen of Second Creek, WV; four sisters, Betty Morrison and husband Jim of Ronceverte, WV, Carolyn Erskine and husband Jessie of Ronceverte, WV, Nancy Morgan of Nags Head, NC, and Rose Mann of Garden Grove, CA; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 2, 2016 at the Groves Funeral Home Chapel in Union, WV with Rev. Patty Adkins and Pastor Jimmy Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery at Salt Sulphur Springs, WV.
