Surviving are her three children, CL Sigmon, Cecil (Sandy) Sigmon, Mike (Patty) Sigmon; stepdaughter, Nancy Smith; and stepson, Jimmy (JoAnn) Poindexter; four grandchildren, Dreama Barbour, Kim (Lonnie) Janney, Tracy (Brad) Holley, Justin (Rita) Sigmon; two stepgrandchildren, Kristi (Jack) Norton and Kelli (Shawn) Shively; eight great-grandchildren, Megan, Logan, Kolton, Cameron, Tyler, Taylor, Brooklynn and Brystal; five stepgreat-grandchildren, Summer, Jackson, Payton, Camden and Kailee; along with many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 8, 2016, conducted at the Flora Funeral Chapel with Pastor Doug Sasser officiating. Interment will follow at Republican Cemetery. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel and other times at her house 200 Old Fort Road, Rocky Mount, Va. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount. on July 7, 2016.3

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 12, 1994 at 2 p.m. at Lynch Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. A. Dave Snead and Gary Milstead officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Church Cemetery, Ferrum. The family will receive friends Thursday, August 11, 1994, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Lynch Funeral Home Chapel, where friends may call after 3 p.m. Lynch Funeral Home, Rocky Mount is in charge of arrangements. on August 11, 1994.3

She is survived by a sister, Viola S. Sigmon Poindexter; and two sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis Lee Sloan (Joyce), and Cleo Ray Sloan (Regina) and a special daughter-in-law, Phyllis Ann Grodensky; ten grandchildren, Kenneth Dalton Sloan Jr., Kimberly Sloan Snider, Shelley Sloan Mounce, Dennis Lee Sloan Jr., Cleo Ray Sloan Jr., Susanne Sloan, Melissa Stanley Frith, Tina Holt, Brandi Keatts, Jason Grodensky and eleven great-grandchildren. Ocie retired from Bassett Superior Lines Furniture Company at the age of 67. In her younger years she was a homemaker and enjoyed farming, gardening and babysitting. She was a very hard worker who loved her family, especially the joys of her life, her grandchildren, and she was most often referred to as "Granny Crack" by all of them. She was well known for cracking jokes and making people laugh and she always attributed her long life to the "love of drinking milk" every day. Ocie resided at Fork Mountain Rest Home (FMRH) the last four years of her life. A special thank you to Carilion Clinic Hospice nursing staff and physicians, and FMRH staff. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Sunday with Mr. Scotty Mounce officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. on May 4, 2012.3

He was the son of the late Gus and Lottie Terry and was a life long resident of Midway. Jesse was a retired employee at Affinity, Eastern Associated Coal as a tipple operator. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 66 years, Irene Pike Terry; daughter Helen; 2 brothers Clayton and Ernest; son-in-law Earl Richards; 2 brothers-in-law Ray Taylor and Rush Reed. Jesse is survived by his daughter Margie Richards of Crab Orchard; grandson Robert Richards and his wife Evonne of Grandview; great-granddaughter Nicole Blankenship and her husband Nick of Midway; 4 great-great-grandsons Kaiden, Waylon, Brentley, and Maddox of Midway; sisters Laura Reed of Columbia, SC and Elva Taylor of Midway; and many nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss him dearly. Jesse was a veteran of WWII where he saw action in Naples. He was a member of the 36th Infantry Division where he and the rest of the Division took a walking tour of Europe ending up in Germany. He returned home on December 19, 1945 during a major snow storm. He was also one of the oldest members of the Midway Church of God. He loved to spend his time hunting and most importantly fishing with his wife. The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, January 10, 2020 from 11 am - 1 pm at Blue Ridge Funeral Home. Bill later joined the Army where he met his future wife, Elizabeth. After serving in Korea, Bill and Elizabeth married and settled in Fort Lupton, CO. Bill and Elizabeth relocated to Arvada where they lived for 52 years. Bill retired from Coors after 30 years. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Elizabeth; daughter Charlene; sons Dennis (Pam) and Michael. He is also survived by three grandsons, Patrick (Kelsey), Ryan (Joleen), Chris (Stephanie), and 3-month old great grandson Fischer. Graveside services to be held on Thursday, June 26th, 2014, 2:00 PM, at the Arvada Cemetery. on June 26, 2014.7

She was known to be a very loving wife, mother and grandmother who always put others before herself. She was preceded in death by a brother, Chester Polk. Survivors include her husband of over 61 years, Glen; her children, Kenneth J. Bowling and wife, Patricia, of Stanaford, Helen Wheeler of Hayesville, N.C., and Janet Bowling of Beckley; five grandchildren, Ruth Vernon of Mount Airy, N.C., Randall Wheeler Jr. and wife, Rita, of King, N.C., Freddie Lee Bowling and wife, Fran, of Beckley, Brandon Wheeler of Honaker, Va., and Crystal Frazier of Mount Airy; five great-grandchildren, Nicholas Simmons, Chasity, Amber and Kaitlyn Bowling and Aiden Wheeler; and a brother, Willard Polk and wife, Lonnie, of Arvada, Colo. Service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, April 28, at Melton Mortuary Chapel, Beckley, with the Rev. Frank Lyons and the Rev. Gary Hosey officiating.
