"Bill," departed this life on March 30, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ulysses and Irene Bratton; two brothers, Gerald and Dale Bratton; and his granddaughter, Heather Bratton. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Carol Bratton; sons, Will "Hardy," Eells (Sharen), Barlan Jr. (Jackie), James (Sheila) and Samuel; daughter, Tracy Whiteside; eight grandchildren, Sarah, Heather, James, Jason, Samuel, Joshua, Trisha and Brooke; eight great-grandchildren; four brothers, Byron (Maurene), Boyd (Pat), Howard (Anna) and Daniel (Rose); numerous "special" nieces and nephews, and his special friends. He retired from Westvaco after 30 years. Bill was a quiet and kind man who loved his family and was an avid sportsman who loved to fish and hunt and was a member of Short Patch Hunt Club. His family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Bliley's-Chippenham, 6900 Hull Street Rd., where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. on April 1, 2017.²
