Ella Mae Aldredge was buried at Highland Burial Park, Danville, Virginia.3 She The following bio was written by her son, Elder Silas James Buchanan Dallas upon her death in his own words. As my Dear Mother has traveled in a number of states with me I desire to write a few lines concerning her life and death. She was born in Logan, West Virginia on March 23, 1885, the daughter of the late C.W. & Miriam E. Aldredge. She lived most of her life in and around Danville, Virginia. She married Elder James Buchanan Dallas, June the 30th, 1908. To this union was born two sons, Paul Arthur Dallas and S. James B. Dallas. Dad died February 4, 1928. Mother united with the Danville Primitive Baptist Church July 22, 1928 and was baptized by Elder J.R. Wilson. I was present when she was baptized and had serious thoughts about the true church of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. I joined the same church in August 1932. Mother lived several years in Salisbury, NC. As her health began to fail more and more she built her an apartment on the home of her son Elder S.J.B. Dallas at Headland Alabama and lived there around 3 years. Mother was sick and afflicted most of her life but was a faithful ministers wife. She was a widow indeed for 34 years. No doubt she spent many lonely hours but she had a loving saviour to lean upon. The death angel called her from this life on February 4, 1962 making her stay in the world 76 years 10 months and 12 days. A little service was held at the Headland Mortuary Chapel on Monday February 5, 1962. Elder Freddie Averett of Enterprize prayed & spoke sweet comforting words. The body was shipped to Barkers Funeral Home in Danville, Virginia. Many of God's dear children came to our little service Mon Feb 5, to share a tribute of respect. We left for Virginia Monday Evening. Our brethren, sisters sent messages. The body was laid at rest at Highland Burial Park by the side of my father. Surviving are two sons, Elder S.J.B. Dallas Headland, Alabama and Paul A. Dallas of Salisbury, North Carolina, one sister, Mrs. J.W. Day of Danville, Virginia & one brother, James H. Aldredge of Danville, Virginia, three grandchildren and one great grandchild. We received a number of letters & sympathy cards. One dear sister wrote "A mother in Israel has fallen but Jesus said my grace is sufficient for thee." May God richly bless you all for your sweet words of comfort to us in our sorrow is our humble prayer. Even though we sorrow we Thank God we sorrow as those that have no hope.7 She was born on March 23, 1885 at Logan, Logan Co., West Virginia.2,3,7 As of June 30, 1908,her married name was Dallas.3 She married James Buchanan Dallas on June 30, 1908 at Danville, Virginia.3,7,8,5 Ella Mae Aldredge died on February 4, 1962 at Headland, Henry Co., Alabama, at age 76.3,7,4,5 She Mrs. Ella Aldredge Dallas, 76, passed away Sunday night, February 4, at her home in Headland following a long illness. Mrs. Dallas was a native of Logan, West Virginia but lived most of her lifetime in Danville, Virginia. She also lived in Salisbury, N. C. before moving to Headland three years ago to make her home with a son, Elder S. J. B. Dallas, a Primitive Baptist Minister. The body was sent Monday to Danville, Va. for funeral and burial. Headland Mortuary was in charge of local arrangements. Surviving are two sons, Elder S. J. B. Dallas, Headland, and Paul A. Dallas of Salisbury, N. C; one sister, Mrs. J. W. Day of Danville; one brother, James H. Aldredge of Danville; three grandchildren and one greatgrandchild. Mrs. Dallas was a member of the Danville Primitive Baptist Church and was the widow of James Buchanan Dallas. on February 8, 1962.5
