She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth Wilson and Big Dale, Melissa Dooley and Shorty; grandchildren, Rocky and Dale Dooley, Joseph and Clifton Delp, Lisa Tedder and Thomas, Gregory and Dustin Delp; seven greatgrandchildren; and several siblings. He was preceded in death by his parents Angus and Odell Mays, brother Thelbert Mays, and sister Lorraine Hale. Junior is survived by his wife of 64 years, Myrtle Mays; daughters, Sherry Smith and husband, Robert, of Roanoke, and Mary Sparks and husband, Buddy; grandchildren, Julia Huffman, Ellen Cabaniss, Robbie Smith, and Joshua Sparks; as well as eight great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 28, 2013, at Simpson Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held to celebrate Junior's life at 2 p.m. Thursday, August 29, 2013, at Simpson Funeral Home with the Joshua Sparks and Robbie Smith officiating. Interment will follow services at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. on August 27, 2013.⁴
