Mrs. Meade died at 7:15 p.m. Sunday (Nov. 19, 2006) at Lee Memorial Health System, Cape Coral, Fla. She was born Jan. 23, 1918, in Oakwood, a daughter of Fred and Estella Snyder Oakwood. She married Robert K. Meade on July 28, 1940, in Oakwood. He died May 8, 1960. Survivors include two daughters, Beth Meade of St. James City and Nancy Parker of Bokeelia, Fla; a sister, Ann Reed of Oakwood; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother. Mrs. Meade graduated from Danville Commercial College. She was a secretary for Urbana High School and retired in 1985. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Urbana, and RSVP. After retiring, she volunteered at Sidney Grade School. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles, knitting, sewing and dancing. Memorials may be made to support children and programs at Unity East Elementary, in care of Mary Weaver, 1638 County Road 1000 North, Philo, IL 61864. on November 23, 2006.2

She was united in marriage to Leland George Cannon on July 4, 1935, in Oakwood, until his passing in October of 1943. She later wed Frank Dalbey in 1951 until his passing in June 1989. She is survived by her son, Mike (Mary Kay) Cannon of Oakwood; her daughter-in-law, Linda Cannon of Oakwood; her sister, Ida Belle Condon of Oakwood; her grandchildren, Jodie (Kevin) Krout of Danville, Pamela (Mike) Cannon-Garcia of Springfield, Jill (Todd) Matson of Oakwood, Stephen Cannon Jr. of Boulder, Colo., Christine (Dan) Schmidt of Valparaiso, Ind., Cathi (David) Fritz of St. Joseph; her 11 great-grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; her many nieces and nephews; as well as several loving friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her two sons, Larry and Steve Cannon; and her two brothers, Hubert and Kenneth 'Buddy' Seymour. Early in Dorothy's life, during WWII, she worked on planes as a riveter. She later became the head secretary at Oakwood Township High School for 25 years. She was a member of the Oakwood United Methodist Church. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. Dorothy waited until Easter morning to enter her Heavenly Home. She will be missed by many who loved her. A celebration of Dorothy's life will be held at 7 p.m., Friday, April 6, 2018, at Sunset's Oakwood Chapel, 105 E. South Main St, Oakwood, with Pastor Patti Wise officiating. Visitation will be held 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Friday, April 6, 2018, at the funeral home. Graveside Service will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 7, 2018, at Stearns Cemetery, Fithian. on April 3, 2018.3

Kenneth attended Oakwood High School and was a lifetime resident and farmer in Oakwood. After retiring, his winters were spent in Clermont, Fla., where he worked as a security guard at FSGC Culprit Worm Factory for several years. Kenneth and Vivian provided Seymour field for Oakwood youth football until the organization moved to the Oakwood Park.. He was a member of the Oakwood United Methodist Church, Catlin Masonic Lodge, Moose Lodge, Scottish Rite Valley of Danville, Gao Grotto, Ansar Shrine, Eastern Illinois Shrine Club and rode the 25-man super cycle. He also was a past member of the Elks Club, the Farmers Union and Farm Bureau. A celebration of Kenneth's life will begin at 1 p.m. Monday, March 26, at Oakwood United Methodist Church, with Pastor Kim Dancy officiating. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Sunday, March 25, at Sunset's Oakwood Chapel, with Masonic services at 4:45 p.m. Burial will take place at Stearns Cemetery in Fithian. on March 23, 2012.2

She is now in the middle of a big family reunion in her new mansion, she is soooo happy to be with her granddaughters, Holly and Bethany Pinckard; son-in-law, Joel Daniel (Danny) Pinckard; sister, Dorothy Dalbey; brothers, Kenneth (Buddy) and Hubert Seymour; their parents, Ernest and Grace Seymour; her nephews, Larry and Stephen Cannon and Kenneth (Kip) Seymour; great-niece, Michele Doney; and last but not least, her husband, Calvin Condon. All of the in-laws, both Condon and Seymour are gathered there, also. Uncle Earl Kelsey has his green electric carving knife at the ready. What a banquet they are having! She is survived by her daughter, Debra Pinckard. A secretary in her younger life, Ida started college at around age 40, after which she taught elementary school. In retirement, she lived in Florida and worked part time for "The Mouse" at the Christmas Shoppe at the Disney Village. She delighted in taking family and friends into the parks with her cast member pass. on April 16, 2019.3

Mr. Conner was born in Shelby county, the son of James and America Conner. His father was a pioneer Disciples minister. Mr. Conner married Miss Mary J. Cadwallader in 1875, the year he was ordained. Mr. Conner held pastorates in Illinois, Indiana, Pennsylvania, and Canada. His Indiana charges included Lafayette, Franklin and Columbus. He had been a Chautauqua lecturer and in 1909 he organized the boy's friend movement, lecturing throughout the country to get adults interested in boys' work. The widow, the daughter, a foster-daughter, four grandchildren and a great-grandson survive. Among those are Mrs. Roland B. Rust, of Richmond, a granddaughter, and Roland B. Rust Jr., the great-grandchild. on May 11, 1932.5

She attended Franklin High School and received a bachelor's degree in English from the University of Oregon in 1943. She was secretary for the Boys and Girls Aid Society, retiring in 1996. Survivors include her sons, Jeffrey F. and Graham K., both of Portland; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Disposition was by cremation. The family suggests remembrances to the Boys and Girls Aid Society. on March 22, 1997.4
