He was a native of Roanoke and the son of the late Uni V. and Eliza Agee Leffler. His wife, Essie Hollins Leffler preceded him in death. Mr. Leffler served in the United States Army during World War II and was retired from Allied Signal Corp. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Wayne C. and Judy Leffler of Forsyth, Ga; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jeanne and Richard Kellett of Chester, Janie and Luis Ojeda of Tampa, Fla; a sister, Gertrude Greasey of Roanoke; five grandchildren, Marshall Leffler, Ronna Barger, Sheila Jacobs, Don Rosenlund, Luis Ojeda, III; three great-grandchildren, Joshua Leffler, Krystal Ojeda, and Troy Rosenlund. Interment will follow at the Wilson Cemetery, Floyd, Va. on April 2, 2000.²

Leffler, 65, of Forsyth, Georgia, passed away May 29, 2008. He was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin Coolidge Leffler and Minerva Essie Stella Hollins Leffler. He was born February 24, 1943, in Roanoke and retired as an electrician from Brown and Williamson Tobacco Company. Mr. Leffler was a former member of Oakhaven Golf Club and a current member of Fox Run Country Club. He was also a member of the machinist union. Survivors include his wife, Judy Leffler, of Forsyth, Georgia; children, Ronna Barger, of Vernon Hills, Illinois, Sheila McAlister, of Colonial Heights, Virginia, Virginia and Marshall Leffler, of Dinwiddie, Virginia; sisters, Jeanne Kellett, of Chester, Virginia, and Janie O'Jeda, of Tampa, Florida; and grandson, Joshua Leffler. Interment will follow in Wilson Cemetery, Check. on June 1, 2008.³

Survivirig, besides her parents, are two sisters; Jeanne and Janie Leffler and a brother, Wayne Leffler. Interment will be in the Wilson Cemetery in Floyd County. on April 20, 1952.⁴

Vest died today. Surviving besides the parents are three sisters, Juanna, Joyce and Patricia, and a brother, Aldo. Funeral will be at the graveside in the Wilson Cemetery. on May 31, 1950.⁶

     Failous Morris Rakes was buried at Piedmont Cemetery, Rt. 11 to Shawsville, turn at nursing home, Rt. 637, about 8 miles on the left, Montgomery Co., Virginia.² He married Alice Marie Workman.⁴ Failous Morris Rakes was born on September 25, 1948 at Montgomery Co., Virginia.³ He died on January 24, 2017 at Virginia at age 68.² He Failous Morris Rakes, 68, of Shawsville, went Home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 24, 2017. Morris loved working around his place – hunting, fishing, and raising a garden and his grandbabies. He enjoyed going to the Little Country Store and sitting around with his buddies in the Liars Club talking about stuff. Give him something that was broke down and wouldn't work, and in no time he would get it going again. He loved to tinker and piddle around his shop. He fought a hard battle with his health but he accepted God in his life and was ready when He called him Home. Morris was preceded in death by his parents, Failous Mason and Alice Regent Main Rakes; and son, Richard M. Rakes. He is survived by his loving wife, Alice Rakes; children, Donna Rakes Akers and husband Todd, Melissa Rakes Craighead and husband, Paul; sister, Linda Hollandsworth; two grandchildren, Jessica and Zachary; two great-grandchildren, Emilie and Brianna; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.Interment will follow in Piedmont Cemetery. on January 26, 2017.²

     Mark Earnest Fletcher was buried at Monticello Memorial Park, 670 Thomas Jefferson Parkway, Albemarle Co., Virginia.⁴ His Social Security Number was 291-50-6750.⁵ He was born on July 20, 1951 at Ohio.^1,6,4,5 He married Gina Marie Harman, daughter of John Valentine Harman and Josephine Marie Jennings, on June 17, 1978 at Montgomery Co., Virginia.^1,2 Mark Earnest Fletcher died on June 8, 2009 at Charlottesville, Virginia, at age 57.^4,5,3 He Mark E. Fletcher, who built one of the nation's top intramural and recreational sports programs at the University of Virginia, died Monday after returning from his morning run. He was 57. Fletcher was associate director of athletics and executive director of intramural/recreational sports. At least 94 percent of undergraduates participated in programs under Fletcher's watch during his tenure, according to the university. When Fletcher arrived at UVa in 1985, he supervised the university's two indoor recreational facilities and 12 full-time employees. Today, there are four major indoor centers, several outdoor facilities, more than 40 full-time workers and hundreds of part-time student employees. He also was responsible for all athletics facilities and operations at UVa from 1992 until 1997, and then supervised the $86 million expansion of Scott Stadium, completed in 2001. Among other projects he oversaw were the creation of the David A. Harrison III Field at Scott Stadium; completion and lighting of Klockner Stadium; and the creation of the artificial turf competition field and renovated football practice fields at University Hall. Prior to coming to Charlottesville, Fletcher was assistant director of athletics and recreation at the University of Denver from 1981 to 1985. Before that, he was coordinator of intramural sports for the office of campus recreation at the University of Utah. From 1974 to 1976, he was an assistant men's basketball coach at Radford University. Fletcher, a native of Crestline, Ohio, earned a bachelor's degree in psychology and education in 1973 from Heidelberg College in Ohio. He earned a master's degree in college student personnel from Bowling Green State University. No information on the cause of Fletcher's death was available Tuesday. He is survived by his wife, Gina, and three children, Kristi, Lori and Scott. on June 10, 2009.⁷
