     Eva Ruth Monical was buried at Mount Carmel Presbyterian Cemetery, 6410 Lee Jackson Highway, Steeles Tavern, Augusta Co., Virginia.2 She was born on October 8, 1916 at Flora, Clay Co., Illinois.1 As of February, 1940,her married name was Gray.2 She married McClelland McClaren Gray, son of Belfrad Hampton Gray Sr. and Nellie Virginia Mays, in February, 1940.1,2 Eva Ruth Monical died on August 15, 2012 at Harrisonburg, Rockingham Co., Virginia, at age 95.2,1 She HARRISONBURG— Eva Ruth (Monical) Gray, 95, widow of McClelland M. Gray of 3935 Sunnyside Drive, died Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2012, in Sunnyside Presbyterian Retirement Community. She was born Oct. 8, 1916, in Flora, Ill., a daughter of the late John Clyde and Retta Florence (Burgess) Monical. She graduated from Flora High School and received her registered nurse degree at Good Samaritan in Lexington, Ky. She was a registered nurse in sixs tates. She assisted in home deliveries during World War II. Beginning in 1949, she was an instructor of the first practical nursing course east of the Mississippi at Wilson Memorial High School. Following her teaching career, she was employed by General Electric as plant nurse, retiring in 1977. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Collinsville and a life long member of Mount Carmel Presbyterian Church, Steeles Tavern. In addition to her husband, whom she married in February 1940, and who preceded her in death in November 1990, she also was preceded in death by a daughter, Virginia Florence Gray; two brothers, Walter Monical and Robert E. Monical; and four sisters, Billie Duke, Ethel M. Rosholt, Nellie I. Heath and Opal M. Garriott. Surviving family members include a son and daughter-in-law, C. Hampton “Chip” and Sandra R. Gray of Waynesboro; two step grandchildren, Jennifer Lihos and Michelle Bradley and her husband, Bo; and two step great-grandchildren, Avery and Cade Bradley. A private graveside service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012. on August 17, 2012.2

Our knight in shining armor, Jerry Carl Raynor, 71 Moneta, Va., passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends on Tuesday, October 16, 2018, at 7:57 p.m., after a lengthy battle with kidney disease and cancer. He was a devoted husband and father, who dedicated his life to serving others and caring for his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Janet Raynor; his sister, Carolyn Emory; and a brother, David Raynor. He is survived by his wife, Donna Gaither Raynor; his brother, Ronald Raynor and wife, Carolyn Raynor; his children, Jeri Raynor, John Raynor and wife, Desiree, Julie Smith and husband, Andrew; his stepchildren, Amanda Wathall and husband, Jason, Crystal Martin and husband, Chris, Luke Mayhew and wife, Ashley, and Miranda Laucella; as well as 13 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, 15 granddogs and 10 grandcats. on October 19, 2018.4
