Through the years he served his community as a member of the Virginia Farm Bureau Board of Directors, a member of the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Committee, the Montgomery County Public Service Authority, the Bank of Shawsville Board of Directors, and the Craighill Masonic Lodge. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mildred Cole Graham; parents, Ballard and Ardella Graham; sisters, Mrs. Ethel Deck and Mrs. Ruby Stewart. Survivors include his two daughters, Annette Graham David, Christiansburg, Joyce Graham, Elliston; three grandchildren, Ellen Thompson Howard, West Point, Graham Thompson and Mark David, Christiansburg; one brother, Mr. Marvin Graham, Pulaski; three sisters, Mrs. Nell Epperly and Mrs. Elva Thomas, Roanoke, Mrs. Marie Richardson, Shawsville; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Helen Hungate, Christiansburg. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday from the Big Spring Baptist Church in Elliston, conducted by the Rev. Steven Sholar, with interment in Sherwood Burial Park in Salem, with Masonic graveside rites. Friends may call from 7 to 9 Tuesday evening or at other hours at the home. He was born on a farm in Bent Mountain, Va. in October 1945 to the late Ernest and Effie Fralin. Dwight loved to work and spent most of his life doing just that very thing. He had a passion for antique tractors, Corvettes, NASCAR racing, Captain Black pouch tobacco and his grandkids. Left to fondly reflect on happy memories are: Coco, his wife; Alan, his youngest brother; two daughters and their families, Shane Fralin Branch, Steve Branch, Cade Branch, Chele Fralin Campbell, John Campbell, Hannah Davidson, Lacey Conrad Campbell, and John Blake Campbell. Let’s not forget that the Fralin clan tends to “collect and own” family not necessarily defined by family trees.      His Social Security Number was 231-56-8955.3 Jesse Phelps Walker Sr. was buried at Oakwood Cemetery, Longwood Road, Bedford, Bedford Co., Virginia.4 He was born on April 12, 1922.3 He married Hazel Via, daughter of Arthur "Elde" Via and Lula Shortt, in 1982.1,2,5 Jesse Phelps Walker Sr. died on November 7, 1993 at Virginia at age 71.4 He WALKER, Phelps Sr., of Richmond, died Sunday, November 7, 1993. He is survived by two sons, J. Phelps Walker Jr. and J. Michael Walker, both of Richmond; two daughters, Paxton W. Allgyer, Big Stone Gap and Kelly W. Sorensen, Norfolk; one brother, Cauthorn Walker, Bedford; and four grandchildren. Mr. Walker was a member of Manakin Episcopal Church and the Order of St. Luke's. He was a graduate of V.P.I. and retired from the Farmers Home Administration. After his retirement, he enjoyed collecting and demonstrating antique farm equipment. His remains rest at the Joseph W. Bliley Funeral Home's Chippenham Chapel, 6900 Hull St. Rd., where the family will receive friends 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday at Manakin Episcopal Church, 385 Huguenot Trail. Interment will be 2:30 p.m., at Oakwood Cemetery, Bedford, Va. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Manakin Episcopal Church. on November 9, 1993.4
