He is survived by his wife, Joyce Bare; son, Tim Bare; daughter, Kimberly Wallace (Terry); sisters, Margaret Surber, Edith Bramlett, and Reba Martin (Dave); and brothers, Ralph Watkins and Ronald Watkins. He was a huge UVA sports fan and an avid fisherman (with his best friend, Tip Ayers, at Smith Mountain Lake). He also followed the Cincinnati Reds, Washington Redskins, and loved NASCAR, especially Junior Johnson.      Peggy Cornelia Young Sheila Garman, Travis Aldridge, and Charles Aldridge are heartbroken but by Faith, we’re happy knowing our mother, Peggy Y. Aldridge is rejoicing in Heaven as of July 22, 2023. She's completely healed and back together with the love of her life Charles, she had missed Dad so much after he passed. She leaves a legacy of love instilled in her three children, five grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren who had her support in every way and were loved with all her heart. She is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Charles Aldridge Sr; sister, Nancy Sink; and brother, Richard Young. In addition to her children, she is survived by her sisters, Helen Janice (Melvin), and Lois Marie (Walter); and brother, Glenn; and numerous nieces and nephews.² She was born on August 1, 1946 at Henry Co., Virginia.¹ She married Charles Bure Aldridge Sr., son of Bure Comrade Aldridge and Virginia Frances Willis, on February 19, 1965 at Roanoke Co., Virginia.^1,2 As of February 19, 1965,her married name was Aldridge.¹ Peggy Cornelia Young died on July 22, 2023 at Virginia at age 76.²
