King, 69, a former resident of Daytona Beach and Holly Hill, died Friday in Spain, where he was vacationing. Mr. King and his traveling companion, Barbara Turner, were in Spain at the invitation of Clair Manley of Daytona Beach, who has a villa there. A native of Lynchburg, Va., Mr. King moved to the Volusia County area from Herndon, Va., in 1981. He was known for sailing aboard his 38-foot sloop, ''Sea Joy,'' which was anchored at Marker 32. He was a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary, Flotilla 44, Daytona Beach, where he attained the highest operational rating - coxswain, in 1994. He was also a past commodore of the Daytona Beach Yacht Club. While living in Holly Hill, Mr. King made an unsuccessful bid for the Ward 3 City Council seat in 1993. He was also active with the Holly Hill Neighborhood Watch, serving as president in 1992. Survivors include a son, Charles III, San Francisco; two daughters, Donna King, St. Augustine, and Sharon Hiemenz, Tampa; a brother, Mervin; and a sister, Margie Rice, both of Virginia; and two grandchildren. Volusia Memorial, Ormond Beach, is in charge. on October 15, 1996.5

Post #2157, Liberty Masonic Lodge #95 and Board-Canady Post of the American Legion. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy L. Jordan; a son and daughter-in-law, Marc R. and Susan Jordan, Thurmont, Md; a daughter and son-in-law, Sandra J. and Stacey Cooper, Wirtz; a brother, Preston Jordan, Madison Heights; four sisters, Nancy Rice, Betty Pendry and Louise Daniel, all of Lynchburg, Lurlee Slate, Naruna; also four grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, May 20, 1995 at 3 p.m. at Bedford Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Francis B. Avery Jr. and the Rev. J. Harris Stephens officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery with military honors by the American Legion Post #16. The family suggests those wishing to make memorials consider Bedford Presbyterian Church. She was a retired cafeteria manager with the Amherst County School System. Mrs. Jordan is survived by her son, Bruce Jordan and wife Debbie of Amherst; her daughter, Joan Mays and husband Randy of Madison Heights; two sisters, Margaret McFaden and husband Owen and Rachel Davis, all of Brookneal and one grandson, Andy Jordan of Amherst. A graveside service was conducted Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at Meade Cemetery in Madison Heights with the Rev. D. Jack Hamilton officiating. The family received friends Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at Whitten Monelison Chapel. on July 11, 2012.3
