Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, April 7, 1995, at Stanleytown Baptist Church with the Rev. Edwin Moore officiating. Interment will follow in Henry Memorial Park, Bassett. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday, April 6, 1995, at Tomlinson Funeral Home, Ridgeway and at other times at the home. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Oakey's South Chapel from 7:30 till 9 p.m. Tuesday. on October 12, 2004.2

     Joseph Byron "Joe" Poff Jr. was buried at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, 5737 Airport Road NW, Roanoke, Virginia.3 He married Ann Gaffney.2,7 Joseph Byron "Joe" Poff Jr. was born on September 17, 1922 at Virginia.2,8 He married Ida Jean Rowland on September 4, 1982 at Roanoke, Virginia.4 Joseph Byron "Joe" Poff Jr. died on July 12, 2011 at Virginia at age 88.3 He Joseph Byron Poff Jr., USN Ret., 88, of Roanoke, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, July 12, 2011. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Theresa Turner; his first wife, Ann Poff; and two sisters, Myra Stiglich and Frances McGraw. He was a member of the Troutville Lions Club. Mr. Poff retired from the Navy life he loved after 21 years of service. At the time of his retirement he had attained the rank of Chief Petty Officer. Following his retirement from the Navy, he was employed by General Electric retiring after 21 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion Post #248, VFW Post #484, and the Fleet Reserve Association. Surviving are his wife, Jean Poff; children, Ann "Nancy" Dooley and husband, Eric, of Philomont, Va., the Rev. Leonard Southern and wife, Kathy, of Salem, Keith Southern and wife, Lynn, of Danville, Jeannie S. Dillon and husband, Lenny, of Panama City, Panama, Don M. Southern and wife, Angela, of Fredericksburg; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Sue Watson, of Troutville, Juanita McLain, of Roanoke, and Betty Francisco and husband, Cecil, Salem. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Music Ministry at Melrose Baptist Church or to Fort Lewis Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted noon Saturday, July 16, 2011, at Melrose Baptist Church 3520 Peters Creek Road by the Rev. Larry Sprouse and the Rev. Leonard Southern. McLain, III and wife, Monica; four grandchildren, Shannon Hodges and husband, Jeff, Christy Hogan, Riley McLain, and Jack McLain; three great-grandchildren, Gage Chisom and wife, Amber, Andrew Mayo, and Lindsey Hogan; two great great-grandchildren, Alivia Chisom and Averie Chisom; two sisters, Sue Watson and Betty Francisco; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by two sisters, Myra Stiglich and Frances McGraw; and one brother, Joseph Byron Poff, Jr. The family will receive friends at Lotz Funeral Home in Salem on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, from 10 until 11 a.m. A funeral service will follow in the chapel of Lotz Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Carillion Home Health and Heartland Hospice for their loving care. on March 13, 2022.4

He was born on June 28, 1922 to the late Blaz and Anna Malnar Stiglich in Michigan. Leon Stiglich was a WW II Veteran and a recipient of a Purple Heart, who was retired from N & W Railroad. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael, who died in Vietnam in 1969; his wife of 60 years, Myra Poff, in 2005; and two brothers, Robert and Anthony Stiglich. He is survived by his wife of one year, Ann; a daughter, Linda Wigington and husband, Randy; grandchildren, Scott Fenton, Jennifer Russell, Beth Yowell, and Kevin Yowell; son, Jim Stiglich and wife, Renee; and grandson, Bryan Stiglich; great-grandsons, Caleb, Jake and Luke Russell; brothers, William and Roy Stiglich; sisters, Betty Cassin and Marian Smith; and a host of other nieces and nephews and friends. A memorial service is planned for Sunday, August 26, 2007 at 1 p.m. at St., Mark United Methodist Church in Daleville. Burial is to be private.
