Mr. Hays enjoyed gardening, reading and spending time with his family. He married the former Doris Collett on Oct. 25, 1951, and she survives. Also surviving are two sons, Timothy Hays and his wife, Bobbi, of Inman, S.C., and Gregory Hays and his wife, Carol, of McConnelsburg; three grandchildren, Misty, Alicia and Timothy Jr; and one step-grandson, Charles Barber. Mr. Hays is also survived by one brother, Robert Hays and his wife, Edith, of Clarion; two sisters, Anna Belle Rau and her husband, Richard, of Butler, and Arta Hain and her husband, Ken, of Harrisburg; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory, 330 Wood St., Clarion. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home with the Rev. William Houben, a retired Free Methodist minister, officiating.      Robert Malcolm Hays Robert M. Hays, age 87, of Chestnut Ridge Dr, Clarion passed away Wednesday, December 2nd, at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Butler, PA. Born March 2, 1928, at home in the Hays family farmstead in Piney Township, Clarion County, he was the son of the late Fred J. and Iva L. (Miller) Hays. On June 2, 1962 he married the former Edith L. Beck, who survives. He was a very active member of the Clarion Free Methodist Church for over 60 years, and then became a member of the First United Methodist Church of Clarion. He was a farmer, and then worked for the Clarion Post Office for 30 years retiring in 1988. He was a committed husband and father, and was well thought of by everyone. He enjoyed gardening, tractors, trains, bird watching, reading and visiting with family and friends. In addition to his wife, surviving are his daughter, Cinthia K. Hays, and son, R. Colin (Donna) Hays; two grandchildren, Robert P. and Theresa M. Hays, all of Butler; two sisters, Anna Belle Rau of Butler and Arta L. Hain of Harrisburg; an aunt, Kathryn I. Styers, and uncle, Calvin D. Miller, both of Clarion; and several nieces and nephews. His brother, William D. Hays, preceded him in death. Arrangements are under the care of the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory, 330 Wood Street, in Clarion, where friends and family will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Friday. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Kevin R. Haley, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Clarion, officiating. She was born July 21, 1924, in Piney Township, Clarion County, to the late Fred J. Hays and Iva (Miller) Hays. Anna Belle was a homemaker, and before her marriage, she worked at the Clarion Department of Forest and Waters. She was a faithful member of North Main Street Church of God for more than 50 years where she taught Sunday School for 20 years, was active in the missions and outreach through the church. Anna Belle was a member of the Women of the Church of God and the 60-Plus Group. She was a kind and gentle woman and an amazing gardener, maintaining flower and vegetable gardens into her 90s. Anna Belle was known for sharing her gardens' bounty with and preparing delicious meals for family and friends. She was fascinated by nature and all of God's creatures. She loved bird watching and tending to the bee hive set up in her back yard. Her grandchildren filled her heart with love and joy and she was immensely proud of their accomplishments and character. She is survived by one daughter, Melinda S. Ripper and her husband, John, of Butler; one son, Brian H. Rau and his wife, Nanette, of Butler; five grandchildren, Brandon J. Rau, Kayla M. Rau, Nicholas J. Ripper, Alyssa Belle Ripper and Andrew M. Ripper, all of Butler; one sister, Arta Williams and her husband, Ken Hain, of Harrisburg, Pa. and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard M. Rau, whom she married on July 9, 1960, and who passed away Dec. 9, 2008; and two brothers, William Hays and Robert Hays. Friends of Anna Belle (Hays) Rau, who died Friday, July 1, 2016, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Thompson -Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the North Main Street Church Of God, 1201 N. Main St. Extension with Rev. Matt Reitz, pastor of the church, officiating. Burial will take place in the Butler County Memorial Park. on July 3, 2016.4

Collett died on June 18, 2020 at Clarion, Clarion Co., Pennsylvania, at age 95.3 She Doris R. Hays, 95, of West Main Street, Clarion passed away Thursday, June 18, 2020 in Hospice Care at the Clarion Hospital. She was born July 9, 1924 in Limestone, daughter of the late Jay L. and Ada I. Carberry Collett. Doris was a 1942 graduate of Clarion-Limestone High School. After graduating high school she worked for 7 years at the Owens Illinois glass manufacturing plant in Clarion. Doris was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Clarion. Doris married William D. Hays on Oct. 25, 1951, who preceded her in death on July 5, 2007. After marriage Doris settled into a life as a homemaker where she lovingly cared for her husband and family until her passing. She enjoyed flowers and gardening, was an accomplished seamstress, and took great pride in always keeping her home meticulously organized and clean. She is survived by two sons: Timothy Hays and his wife Bobbi, of Inman, S.C. and Gregory Hays and his wife Carol of McConnellsburg: three grandchildren, Misty, Alicia, and Timothy Jr; one step-grandson, Charles Barber; five great-grandchildren, Owen and Bennett Hays and Leo, Wes, and Jax Barber. Doris is survived by two sisters: Bonnie Hoover of New Bethlehem and Margaret “Peg” Emrick of Elk City; along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Doris was preceded in death by sister: Lois Smith; brothers Robert Collett, Sr., George Collett, Victor Collett, and Staff Sergeant Jack Collett, who was killed in action on March 15, 1945. The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 21, 2020 from 1 pm to 2 pm at the Goble Funeral Home, 330 Wood St. Clarion, Pa with the service to follow at the funeral home with the Rev. Deryl Larsen officiating. Interment will be in Salem Cemetery in Frogtown. on June 19, 2020.3

     Edith L. Beck Edith L. Hays, age 83, of Chestnut Ridge Dr, Clarion passed away Monday, December 28, 2015 at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Butler, PA. Born February 24, 1932 in Dagus Mines and raised on Gardner Hill, Elk County, she was the daughter of the late Jeremiah King and Florence Olean Beatrice (Carlson) Beck. She attended Jay Township High School, Allentown Bible Institute and received a Register Nurse degree at the Clearfield Nursing School. She married the late Robert M. Hays on June 2, 1962. He passed away on December 2, 2015. She was an active member of the Clarion Free Methodist Church for nearly 50 years and then became a member of the Clarion First United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker, enjoyed cooking, gardening and canning. She was especially noted for her pickles. Surviving are her daughter, Cinthia K. Hays, and son, R. Colin (Donna) Hays; two grandchildren, Robert P. and Theresa M. Hays, all of Butler; one brother, Victor A. Beck of Emlenton; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death are two sisters, Ellen P Garner and Eileen P Swackhammer; and two brothers, Virgil J. K and Vincent J. J. Beck. Arrangements are under the care of the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory, 330 Wood Street, in Clarion, where friends and family will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Saturday. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Kevin R. Haley, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Clarion, officiating. Born July 5, 1929 in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of William Wrightson and Sarah Wrightson Moyar. Jill grew up and lived most of her life in Clarion. She graduated from Clarion Area High School in 1947 and was proud to be their representative for PA Laurel Queen. She worked for Owens Illinois Glass Plant until her marriage to William F. Mowry on December 24, 1948. Jill was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, baking and entertaining relatives at the holidays. She was also a fan of classic movies and enjoyed watching them on the TCM channel. Jill is survived by two daughters, Jan Weaver and her husband Bruce of Muncy; Sara Hollobaugh and her husband Bob of Butler; 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her step-father William Moyar; her husband Bill; and one grandson Philip Weaver. A private family visitation will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2020 from 1pm to 2pm at the Goble Funeral Home, 330 Wood St. Clarion, Pa 16214. The private funeral service will be held at 2pm at the Funeral Home with Rev. John Flowers officiating.
