Lucille Louise Porter Louise P. Nelson, 83, of 621 Tionesta Avenue, passed away Wednesday (December 5, 2012) at the Lutheran Home at Kane after a lengthy illness. Born June 18, 1929, in Kane, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence and Margaret Austin Porter. On December 31, 1947, in Kane, she married Leonard K. Nelson, Sr. who survives. Mrs. Nelson, a graduate of Kane High School class of 1947, retired in 1987, after thirty-five years at Stackpole Carbon Co. in Kane and St. Marys. Prior to that, she had been employed at Gillotti's Grocery and the Kane Shirt Factory. She was a life-long member of the First Church of God and a member and past president of AARP Chapter 294. She also was a treasurer at the Kane Senior Center and had served on the Kane High School Emeritus Committee for over thirty years. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are two daughters, Vickie L. Erickson of Pittsburgh and Nancy K. Petridge of Hampton, VA; three sons, Leonard "Otis" (Debbra) Nelson, Jr. of Kane, William (Nancy) Nelson Sr. of Meadville and Randy (Deborah) Nelson Sr. of Martinsburg, WV; Three granddaughters, Malaena Nelson of Ludlow, Brittany Nelson of Martinsburg and Kayley Nelson of Martinsburg; six grandsons, Kristin A. (Alison) Erickson of Chicago, IL, Scott D. Nelson of Hampton VA, William "Bubba" Petridge of Hampton, VA, Leonard J. "OJ' Nelson of Kane, William R. Nelson Jr. of Camp Lejuene, NC, and Nicholas Nelson of Meadville; a sister, Marjorie Newpher of James City; two great granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death, besides her parents, by a son, Daniel P. Nelson; a daughter, Barbara A. Nelson; and a grandson, Randy L. Nelson. Friends and family may attend a memorial service at 11:00 A.M. Monday at the First Church of God, 204 N. Fraley Street, with the Rev. Chad Troup, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery.3 She was buried at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Kane, McKean Co., Pennsylvania.3 She was born on June 18, 1929 at Kane, McKean Co., Pennsylvania.3 As of December 31, 1947,her married name was Nelson.3 She married Leonard K. Services will be held on Monday, January 11, 2010 at the Adams Funeral Home, 111 S. Main St., Elmer, NJ 08318. The viewing will begin at 12:30pm and the service will follow at 1:30pm.
