Va. 33. State police said Mrs. Cox was driving east on the highway when her car went out of control on a curve near Maplewood Estates. The compact car ran over a small embankment and flipped over, crushing her, police said. She was dead on arrival at Thomas Memorial Hospital. State police said Wednesday that seat belts probably would have saved the life of the 18-year-old mother and housewife. Among the survivors of Mrs. Cox is her father, James M. McCallister, who is a patient in Thomas Memorial Hospital. He was injured in a Nov. 1 two-car collision that claimed the life of Mrs. Cox's mother, Verna Thelma McCallisterr, 42.
