He was also preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Gail Mitchem, and a brother, Terrence "Terry" Mitchem. Mr. Mitchem was a truck driver. Survivors include two sons, Otis LaMonte Mitchem Jr., of Delaware and William LaMonte Tilley of Beckley; a daughter, Kimberley Bowyer of Oak Hill; a brother, Robert "Mickey" Mitchem and wife, Helen of Beckley; a sister, Eva Rose Bickett of Indiana; and also his companion, Suzanne Tilley of Beckley, and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2010, at the Church of the Nazarene of Oak Hill, with the Rev. Jerry Bush officiating. on September 28, 2010.²

at Kilgore. He was recently installed as Senior Deacon of Masonic Lodge 45 and was a member of the Humboldt Golf and Country Club. He enjoyed woodworking which was his favorite hobby, but what he loved most in life was his children. He appreciated his fellow employees and coworkers, he was loved and respected by his employees and family. He is survived by his mother Laura Mitchem Rosenbaum of Beckley; W. Virginia, his wife Debra "Deb" Mitchem of Jackson, Tennessee; three daughters Stephanie Akers and husband Todd of Huntsville, Alabama, Koren Mitchem and Erin Mitchem both of Jackson, Tennessee; two brothers Otis Mitchem and Robert M. Mitchem both of Beckley, W. Virginia, and one sister Eva Bickett of Hammond, Indiana. Two grandchildren, Alec and Alden and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father William Mitchem. on December 28, 1998.⁴

     Wanda Gail Mathena was buried at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill, Fayette Co., West Virginia.¹ She was born on April 2, 1938 at Tazewell Co., Virginia.^1,2,3 As of February 5, 1982,her married name was Mitchem.³ She married Otis LaMonte "Monty" Mitchem, son of William McKinley Mitchem and Laura Marrainia McGuffin, on February 5, 1982 at Chesterfield Co., Virginia.^1,3 Wanda Gail Mathena died on May 22, 2003 at Beckley, Raleigh Co., West Virginia, at age 65.¹ She OAK HILL — Wanda Gail Mitchem, 65, of Oak Hill, died Thursday, May 22, 2003, in a Beckley hospital. Born April 2, 1938, in Tazewell County, Va., she was the daughter of the late Roy L. and Mary Patrick Mathena. She was preceded in death by a son, James M. Calvert; and a brother, Harold L. Mathena. Survivors include her husband, Otis Mitchem; a son, Steven W. Calvert of Oak Hill; a daughter, Kimberley J. Calvert of Oak Hill; a brother, Roy L. Mathena II of Greenville, S.C; and three grandchildren, Candice, Jimmy and Ashley. Service will be 1 p.m. Monday at High Lawn Funeral Home Chapel, Oak Hill, with the Rev. Allen Travis and Larry Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill. on May 23, 2003.¹
