She was born April 9, 1946 in Pearisburg, Va., and was the daughter of the late Paul Morrison and Mala Williams Cahill. Sandie was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Rich Creek, Va. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Surviving is her beloved husband, Lewis Haldren of Rich Creek, VA; two Sons, Harry E. Whitlow Jr., of Oakvale, WV and Dennis G. Whitlow of Rich Creek, VA. Two grandsons, Michael G. Whitlow and David D. Whitlow of Oakvale, WV and one granddaughter, Cassidy A. Whitlow of Rich Creek, VA., one brother Paul T. Morrison and his wife Debbie of Princeton, WV and their children Kimberly and Daniel. Sandie retired from Celanese Corporation with 30 years of service. She was an auxiliary member of the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and American Legion, where she was an active member until she became ill. It was Sandy's wishes to be cremated and her graveside service held at the Southwest Virginia Veterans cemetery in Dublin, Virginia. on December 22, 2016.2

John Ambrose Jones, 41, of Rt. 2 Box 34 Rock, W.Va., went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 15, 2008. Sgt. Jones was born on June 13, 1967 in Princeton, W.Va. to the Rev. James Jones and Ruth Pigg Jones of Sandlick, W.Va. Sgt. Jones was a graduate of Montcalm High School and Bluefield State College holding an undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice. Sgt. Jones had been a member of the Bluefield West Virginia Police Department since October of 1990, where he started off as a patrol officer, and he worked his way up through the ranks patrolman to detective and was now serving as shift sergeant for his break. Sgt. Jones was a long-time officer in Mercer County Lodge 80, Fraternal Order of Police and was a coordinator of the annual “shop-with-a-cop” program in Bluefield for all 10 years of its existence. He was also a member of the Mercer County SWAT Team. He was also the former commissioner over Click-it-or-ticket. Sgt. Jones was preceded in death by both his maternal and paternal grandparents, Mr. Emitt and Lutie Jones and Mr. Lonnie and Carlie Pigg. Left to cherish his memory are: His parents, the Rev. James and Ruth Jones of Sandlick, W.Va; four children, Kyleigh and JoLeigh Jones of Princeton, W.Va., Ethan and Nicholas Stirewalt of Bluefield, W.Va; two brothers, James “Pedo” Jones and wife Cornelia of Browning Lambert Mountain, W.Va., Larry “Joe” Jones and wife Linda of Hildebran, N.C; companion, Wendi Lawson of Princeton; one sister, Mardella Thomason and husband Danny of Sandlick, W.Va; four nieces, Tracy Beggs of Browning Lambert Mountain, Heather Brendle of Burk Co., N.C., Crystal Stevenson of Sandlick, W.Va., Danielle Hicks of Wilmington, N.C; two nephews, Dennis Thomason Jr., of Bluefield, W.Va., Scotty Jones of Browning Lambert Mountain; four great-nephews, Austin, Markus, Grayson and Daniel; five great-nieces, Morgan, Alyssa, Gabby, Julie and Addison. Funeral service will be held for Sgt. John Ambrose Jones on Friday, March 20, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Brushfork National Guard Armory in Brushfork, W.Va. with the Rev. Dewayne Houk officiating the service. Burial will follow at the Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, W.Va. where the West Virginia Color guard will provide graveside rites. Friends and family may call on Thursday, March 19, 2009 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Brushfork Armory in Brushfork, W.Va. SWAT members will be serving as pallbearer. on March 17, 2008.3
