Born in 1933 in Oxford, he was the son of Vernon "Cap" and Maybelle Lester Martin. He was raised in Oxford. He attended the University of Arkansas, earning a bachelor of science, and earned a master's degree from Arkansas State University. He also attended the University of Central Arkansas in Conway. He joined the U.S. Air Force and served during the Korean War. He became a schoolteacher and a junior high school principal and finished his career in administration as the assistant superintendent of the Malden, Mo., School System. After retirement, he and his wife relocated to Houston. Survivors include his wife, Mary Martin; his mother; a brother, Billy James Martin; a son, Bryan "Skipper" Jones; a daughter, KeeAnna Martin Falterman; and two grandchildren, Alysha Kee and Jeremy Falterman. He was preceded in death by his father. The funeral was at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Howard Memorial Chapel in Melbourne with Bobby Coleman officiating. Burial was in Oxford Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne. Pallbearers were Greg Moss, Jimmy Owens, Darrell Owens, Bill Brown, Jack McCollum and Billy Joe Kankey. Honorary pallbearers were Jim Ludan, Roy Cossey and George Falterman. on September 9, 2009.2

Marilyn June Caldwell Marilyn J. Caldwell, 77 of Hinton, died Friday August 24, 2012 at Phillips Care Home in Lerona after a long illness. Born April 20, 1935 in Hinton, she was the daughter of the late John O. and Gladys Swepston Caldwell. She was a graduate of Hinton High School in the class of 1953. She completed a business course at the Charleston School of Commerce and was an Accredited Record Technician and member of the American Medical Record Association. She was employed in the Medical Records Department at Hinton Hospital and Summers County Hospital for 45 years. She served as organist at Pivont Funeral Service for several years after her retirement. She was in fellowship at Riverview Chapel in Hinton for many years where she served as pianist, organist and Sunday School teacher. More recently, she met with the Christians at Providence Bible Church. Marilyn is survived by two sisters, Carolyn Jones and her husband Frank of Ballengee and Fleda Farney and her husband Marvin of Abbyville, KS. Nephews, Geoff Jones and wife Renae of Hinton, Brent Jones and wife Hope of Hinton, Eric Jones and wife Rebecca of Woodstock, GA, Doug Farney and wife Deidrea of St. Charles, MO, Greg Farney of Sterling, KS and niece, Pamela Joy and husband Robert of Lewis Center, OH. Twenty great nieces and nephews also survive. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday August 29th, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton. Burial will follow in Restwood Memorial Gardens in Hinton. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the funeral home.2 She was buried at Restwood Memorial Gardens, Hinton, Summers Co., West Virginia.2 She was born on April 20, 1935 at Hinton, Summers Co., West Virginia.2,4 She died on August 24, 2012 at Lerona, Mercer Co., West Virginia, at age 77.4,2

Survivors include his wife, Terry; son, Douglas Crawford of Springfield; step-son, Michael Hecker of Klamath Falls; daughter and son-in-law Brandi and Andy Bushnell of Idaho Falls, Idaho; stepdaughter and her husband, Charolette and Travis Abshere of Eugene; brothers and sisters-in-law, Clifford and Brenda Crawford and Paul and Brenda Crawford of Klamath Falls; five grandchildren; mother Marylin Crawford of Keno; uncles, Gordon McGinnis of Milwaukie and James McGinnis of Enterprise; aunt, Lolita Fermanich of Antigo, Wis; an numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. He was preceded in death by a brother, Martin in 1989, and his father in 1994. on November 5, 1998.4
