Glenn was proud to be an Eagle Scout. He was a graduate of Radford University and a member of PI Gamma Mu International Honor Society. Glenn was born December 28, 1971, in Takoma Park, Md. He was the son of John H. Tanner, Jr. and Carolyn M. (Jones) Tanner of New Oxford. He was employed by the U.S. Post Office. Later, he worked for Virginia Tech University as a supervisor for the police department. He was the owner of Military Research Company. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his maternal grandmother, Betty S. Jones; one aunt, Sandy Sue Edwards; three uncles, Eric and Aunt Sandra Puryear, Scott and Aunt Vicki Saltzman and Doug and Aunt Jill Ewing; several cousins, Phillip and Marianne Edwards, Andrew Edwards, Brandon and Shelley Smith, Steve and Heather Brown, Andrew Puryear, Allison and Caroline Saltzman, Tyler, Jeffery and Connor Ewing. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, John H. Tanner and Agnes I. Tanner. He was also preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Gratin A. Jones. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. from the Feiser Funeral Home, 302 Lincolnway West, New Oxford, Pa. Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, March 27, 2014 at 11 a.m. from the Union Chapel Church, Palmer Springs, Va. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. on March 24, 2014.²

In addition to her mother, she is survived by three daughters, Michelle Dawn Vest Landon of Winchester, Ashley Vest Slusser and her husband, Eddie, and Lindsey Vest Evans and her husband, John, all of Madison Heights; two stepchildren, Eddie "Beau" Vest of Lynchburg and Jenny Vest of Charleston, W.Va; six grandchildren, Emily Landon, Brittany Evans, Elizabeth "Lizzy" Evans, Jessica Evan, Kayla Slusser, and Kenneth Slusser, and many additional children who called her Nana. A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, February 6, 2017, at Fort Hill Memorial Park with the Rev. Mark Snowden officiating. on February 2, 2017.³
