Calabrese, who was like a sister and best friend to Marie, of Hurricane; special and devoted niece, Melissa D. Milam and her husband Michael L. Milam and their girls, Marie's great-nieces, Alexis and Brooklyn; niece, Stephanie Sturm; her son, Marie's greatnephew, J.C. Bush of Scott Depot, along with many devoted friends. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. A special thanks to 4 South Team nurses at St. Mary's Hospital, Hospice House of Huntington and Dr. Conjura for the care they gave Marie and our family. Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday February 19, 2008 at Chapman Funeral Home, 3941 Teays Valley Road, Hurricane, W.Va. Burial will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans, W.Va. Gene was retired from Kroger Co. after 40 years of service. He is preceded in death by his parents, Nola and John Knight; and a brother, Alfred Knight. He is survived by his wife, Marie Knight; sister, Dawn Day, and her husband, Thomas Calabrese, of West Virginia; mother-in-law, Nena Samples; niece, Melissa, and her husband, Mike Milam; Stephanie Strum; two great-nieces, Alexis and Brooklyn Milam; and a great-nephew, J. C. Bush. A funeral mass will be at Oakey's East Chapel 12 noon on Thursday, May 4, 2006. Interment will be at the Cunningham Memorial Park in St. Albans, W.Va. at 11 a.m. on Friday. The family would like to thank all of the nurses at Roanoke Memorial Hospital and their friends. He was Robert Lee Evans, of Bomont, Clay County. Clay County Coroner A. A. Smith said the wound was apparently self-inflicted. The body of Cpl. Evans was found near his home. He had been in the Marines two and a half years, having spent 12 months in Vietnam. The corporal was stationed in Clarksvillee, Tenn., and came home on leave three days ago. He attended Clay County High School. Surviving are his widow, Judy; mother, Mrs. Gladys F. Evans of Bomont; brothers Charles and Marshal, both at home; sisters, Wilma and Wanda, both at home. Burial with military graveside rites will be in King-Mullins Cemetery at Bomont. on December 20, 1967.3

     Ella Marie Arbaugh Woodbridge, VA - Ella Marie Arbaugh Parker Burroughs Petrey, 87, formerly of Meadow Creek, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Jan. 10, 2014, at Mount Vernon Nursing Home, Alexandria, VA, following a long illness. Born Aug. 27, 1926, in Alderson, she was the daughter of the late Otie Everett and Maude Sweetwood Arbaugh. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Henry D. “Jr.” Parker, Jr; two brothers, Roy Arbaugh and Robert Arbaugh; and two sisters, Dorothy Craddock and Pauline Addleman. Over the years Marie lived in West Virginia and the DC Metropolitan Area. She retired in 1988, having worked most of her life in retail, with most of that time at Woodward & Lothrop Department Store in Northern Virginia. Marie absolutely loved music, dancing and bingo, and was always a huge fan of the Washington Redskins. She was also a member of the Moose Lodge. Survivors include: three children, Barbara McDonald and husband Ron of Woodbridge, VA, William “Chuck” Parker and wife Sharon of Spotsylvania, VA and Sheila Knotts and husband Greg of Stafford, VA; eight grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 17 at 2 p.m. at the Lobban Funeral Home Chapel, Alderson, with Pastor Rick Duncan officiating. Burial will follow in the Fletcher Addition of the Alderson Cemetery, Alderson. Friends may call Friday, Jan. 17 from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.4 She was buried at Alderson Cemetery, Alderson, Greenbrier Co., West Virginia.4 She and Henry Dee Parker were divorced.4 Ella Marie Arbaugh was born on August 27, 1926 at Alderson, Greenbrier Co., West Virginia.3,4 As of November 3, 1946,her married name was Parker.1 She married Henry Dee Parker, son of William Oscar Parker and Lura H.
