Born March 11, 1931, in Henry County, he was a son of the late Ernest Dunford and the late Lottie Meadows Dunford. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, was a member of Bassett American Legion Post 11, and was employed at the Table Plant at Bassett Furniture Industries. Surviving are his wife, Evelyn Sigmon Dunford of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Freddie (Patricia) Rakes of Bassett; four sons, Frank David Dunford, Donald Wayne Dunford, Douglas Michael Dunford, and Ricky Dale Dunford, all of Bassett; four sisters, Ruby Robertson of Patrick Springs, Gracie Fretwell and Peggy Harbour, both of Bassett, and Juanita Stowe of Dry Fork; two brothers, Jesse Dunford of Dry Fork and Russell Dunford of Bassett, and two grandchildren. Burial will follow in Blackberry Baptist Church cemetery. on March 21, 1991.³
