     Everman Floyd "Bud" Crowder was buried at Wallace Memorial Cemetery, 16155 Midland Trail West, Crawley, Greenbrier Co., West Virginia.2 He was born on September 28, 1925 at Sprague, Raleigh Co., West Virginia.6,5,2 He married Joy Thomas on January 31, 1948.2,7 Everman Floyd "Bud" Crowder died on January 14, 2006 at Clarksburg, Harrison Co., West Virginia, at age 80.6,5,2 He Everman Floyd "Bud" Crowder, 80, of Meadow Bridge passed from this life on Jan. 14, 2006, at United Hospital Center in Clarksburg of complications following a stroke. Born on Sept. 28, 1925, in Beckley, he was the elder son of the late William Donnaly and Martha Patterson Crowder. On Jan. 31, 1948, he was married to Joy Thomas Crowder who survives. Survivors also include four loving children, Everman "Buddy" Crowder of Beckley, Dr. Sharon Crowder and husband, Steven Meadville, of Bell Canyon, Calif., Lisa Neal and husband, Dr. William Neal of Buckhannon, and Ed Crowder and wife, Vickie, of Bridgeport. He is also survived by two wonderful granddaughters, Natalie Neal of Buckhannon and Kristen Crowder of Bridgeport, along with several special nieces and nephews. Mr. Crowder was preceded in death by one brother, Myles Joseph Crowder. He was a graduate of Meadow Bridge High School (1944), Concord College, and retired from the Fayette County Board of Education after many years of teaching at Layland, Lookout, and Meadow Bridge High School. Mr. Crowder was a member of the Spring Dale Church of Christ and a World War II Army veteran. A special thank you to Dr. Mazen Nashed and the caring staff of UHC. Also our heartfelt thanks to brother-in-law Warren "Jr." Thomas and wife, Eugenia, for their constant support. Visitation for friends and family will be from 6 to 9 p.m. at Smathers Funeral Home, Rainelle, on Sunday, Jan. 15, 2006. The funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. at the Spring Dale Church of Christ on Monday, Jan. 16, with Pastor George Deitz officiating. Entombment will follow at the Wallace Memorial Mausoleum in Clintonville. Pallbearers will be William Neal, Steven Meadville, Tony Thomas, Warren D. Thomas III, Ronnie Patterson, and Gary McClanahan, with honorary pallbearers Teddy David Thomas and Ernie McGraw.      Joy Thomas was buried at Wallace Memorial Cemetery, 16155 Midland Trail West, Crawley, Greenbrier Co., West Virginia.2 She was born on May 11, 1927 at Meadow Bridge, Fayette Co., West Virginia.2 As of January 31, 1948,her married name was Crowder.1 She married Everman Floyd "Bud" Crowder, son of William Donnally Crowder and Martha Katherine Patterson, on January 31, 1948.1,2 Joy Thomas died on October 27, 2015 at Meadow Bridge, Fayette Co., West Virginia, at age 88.2 She MEADOW BRIDGE — On Tuesday, October 27, 2015, Joy Thomas Crowder, 88, of Meadow Bridge, passed from this earth to join her many friends and family in heaven where neither pain nor sadness exists. Born May 11, 1927, in Meadow Bridge, she was the daughter of the late Warren Dempsey and Anna Bernice Johnson Thomas. Joy graduated from Meadow Bridge High School with the class of 1945. Married to E.F. "Bud" Crowder on January 31, 1948, she graduated from Concord College and began a long teaching career starting at Red Springs, Layland, Lee's Tree and enjoyed the rest of her career teaching mostly first grade at Meadow Bridge Elementary School. Joy was a Christian and long-time member of the Springdale Church of Christ. Preceding her in death was her first husband of 57 years E.F. "Bud" Crowder, January 14, 2006 and second husband Justo Gonzales, July 13, 2015, whom she married Dec. 24, 2007; her brothers Roger and Teddy H. Thomas and an infant daughter Martha Ann Crowder. Survivors include her four children E.F. "Buddy" Crowder (Freda) of Beckley, Sharon M. Crowder (Steve) of Bell Canyon, Calif., Lisa Neal (William) of Buckhannon and Ed Crowder (Vickie) of Bridgeport; grandchildren whom she adored include Natalie Neal Austin (Dilton) of Buckhannon, Kristen Crowder of Bridgeport and Kimberly Clark (Jamie) of Roanoke, Va; and loving great-grandchildren include Warren Andrew Austin, Wyatt and Sadie Clark and Hollie Joy Austin (due December 9, 2015); and one brother W.D. "Jr." Thomas of Meadow Bridge, her best friend and most trusted confidant her entire life. Joy was also a loving aunt to many nieces, nephews and sisters-in-law Eugenia, Peggy and Gayle Thomas, all of Meadow Bridge. During her life, Joy loved teaching, reading, and sewing, staying up late many nights with her sewing machine creating beautiful clothes and other items for herself and family. She was also a wonderful cook and baker spending every holiday in her kitchen preparing fabulously delicious meals for her family, friends and relatives. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, October 30, in the Springdale Church of Christ. Entombment will be in the Wallace Memorial Mausoleum at Clintonville.
