She then married Terry Cohen, the love of her life, on August 30, 1985. Teresa worked as a convenience store manager for Wagner Concessions, as a construction worker, at Harmon Motive, and babysitting her grand babies. In Teresa's spare time, she loved making blankets, listening to Garth Brooks, playing Yahtzee, reading, Facebook games, teaching her grand babies cooking and babysitting them. on September 1, 2015.⁴

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Carpenter Jr; two daughters, April Ranard and her husband, Mark, of Bloomfield, and Amy Carpenter of Terre Haute; five grandchildren, Aryel, Noah, Alyvia, Nathan and Mariah; three brothers and their wives. Ralph and Karen Love and Brian and Wilma Love, all of Martinsville, and Cheyenne and Lacindra Love of Gosport; and three sisters, Rita Martin and her husband, Mike, of Camby, Teresa Cohen and her husband, Terry, and April Love, all of Martinsville.
