Bucky graduated with the Class of 1951 from Mainland High School in Daytona Beach. He became a life-long resident of Volusia County. He loved Stock Car Racing, as well as fishing and hunting with his grandson, Kevin. In his professional career, Bucky was a Master Plumber and Pipe Fitter and a member of the Local Union #295 of Daytona Beach for over 50 years. Mr. Walters was a family man who had very strong values, both for his family and country. He served his country during the Korean Conflict years and was a Proud American. While serving in the Army, Harley earned two Bronze Stars. Bucky is preceded in death by his loving wife Doris of 45 years, his parents and one son Tom. Surviving is his daughter, Nancy Kennedy, four grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren. All of his family and many friends who loved Bucky and will deeply miss him. Born May 24, 1932 in Kellysville, he was the son of the late Robert and Alice Whitt Whitlow. He retired for health reasons in 1982 from Consolidated Coal Company Itmann Mine. Prior to working in coal mining, he worked in the timber industry. He was of the Protestant faith. Benny had made his home in Princeton for the past five years with his son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Katrina Whitlow. In addition to his parents, five brothers, Larry Whitlow, Harry Whitlow, James Whitlow, Dean Whitlow and Houston Whitlow; and two sisters, Lois Whitlow Proffitt and Betty Jo Whitlow Jones preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife, Mazie Lee Anna Hurt Whitlow of Princeton; three daughters, Theresa Thompson and husband James of Kellysville, Kathy Hicks and husband Clarence of Princeton and Belinda Thompson and husband Maurice of Narrows, Va; two sons, Bobby Whitlow and wife Katrina of Princeton and Jerry Whitlow and wife Kathy of Peterstown; eleven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one brother, J.E.
