Mike's friends were a huge part of his family and there are too many to name. Mike was an avid hunter, fisherman and sports enthusiast. There was always hunting or fishing season or soon to be a season for something he enjoyed. He appreciated life and loved the people who passed through his life. Mike gave lessons on how to enjoy life and imparted "wisdom and advice" to anyone in ear shot. He was fiercely independent and never missed an opportunity to share his opinion. Mike was strong through his illness and never complained; he always responded that he felt good. He was comforted because he knew he always had the hand of a friend near him. Mike's days were blessed by Irish luck and his heart was warmed by the smiles of people he loved. on December 13, 2006.⁷
