Beverly Gale Young Beverly Gale Young went to his Heavenly home on Monday, August 18, 2014. Bev embodied 2 Timothy 4:7. He fought the good fight and has finished the race, and now resides with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Bev was born December 21, 1943 in Roanoke, VA to the late Ivan R. and Lera L. Young. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Rita Gearheart Young. Also surviving Bev are his children; Reid Young and wife, Tracey, of Crozet, VA, Autumn Young of Roanoke, VA and Justin Young and wife, Heather, of Roanoke, VA; his five grandchildren, Lera and Olivia Young, Hollie and Mackenzie Martin, and Mason Young. Bev is also survived by his two siblings, Ronald Young and wife, Sue, of Fincastle, VA and Signe Marechal and husband, Doug, of Waynesboro, VA; as well as many nieces and nephews. Bev was a devoted husband and father. He loved sports, especially golf, but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park.3 He was buried at Sherwood Burial Park, 1045 Lynchburg Turnpike, Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia.3 He was born on December 21, 1943 at Roanoke, Virginia.1,2,3 He married Rita Arlene Gearheart, daughter of Clinton David Gearheart and Hazel Ozella Richardson, on July 21, 1973 at Roanoke, Virginia.1,3 Beverly Gale Young died on August 18, 2014 at Virginia at age 70.3

Eugene Joseph "Gene" Koalkin was buried at Sherwood Burial Park, 1045 Lynchburg Turnpike, Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia.6,5 He Eugene Joseph “Gene” Koalkin, 96, of Ocala, Fla., peacefully passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at Hawthorne Village Nursing Home of Ocala. Gene was born on April 30, 1924, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to the late Barnett and Becky Swirsky Koalkin. He faithfully served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II, under the command of General George S. Patton, where he assisted in the liberation of those suffering in concentration camps in Germany. After being honorably discharged, Gene furthered his education at Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute where he earned his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. After more than 40 years of loyal and productive service, Gene retired as an officer of Arnold Diamond Construction Company of Great Neck, N.Y. He also was a devoted long-time member, and served as President, of Temple Emanuel, of East Meadow, N.Y. Above all, Gene will be remembered as a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many. He will be missed! In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Sidney Koalkin, and sister-in-law, Sunny Koalkin. Family remaining to cherish his memory includes his wife of 40 years, Linda Richardson Koalkin, of Ocala, Fla; daughters, Barbara Barza and husband, Al, of Piedmont, Calif., and Sheila Gallanty and husband, Alan, of Westport, Conn; stepson, James Crosier, Jr., of Christiansburg, Va; grandchildren, Joshua Barza, of Piedmont, Calif., Eric Gallanty and wife, Shannon, of East Walpole, Mass., Justin Gallanty, of Westport, Conn., and stepgrandson, Brandon Crosier, of Christiansburg, Va; niece, Sarah Persha; and nephew, Matt Koalkin. Graveside services will be conducted at Sherwood Memorial Park in Salem, Va. where military honors to honor Gene’s service will be conducted.5 He was born on April 30, 1924 at Brooklyn, Kings Co., New York.3,4,5 He married Linda Ann Richardson, daughter of Rev.
