He was a Master Mason with the Beach Masonic Lodge 354 in Indiatlantic, FL, where he received an award for more than 50 years of service. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Lillian H. Herrmann; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jack and Linda Herrmann, Harry and Rosie Herrmann, all of North Augusta, SC; four grandchildren, Erik Herrmann of Tampa, FL, Tara Drew of Atlanta, GA, Cheryl Bruno of Huntsville, AL, and Mark Herrmann of Augusta, GA; and four great-grandchildren. Chatham and Mary Jane Mullen, on August 24, 1890 at Clinton Co., Pennsylvania.8,4,5 Elizabeth "Lizzie" Osman Mrs. Lizzie Chatham, 72, a well-known resident of Flemington and last surviving member of the Israel Osman family, died suddenly this morning at 9 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George S. Grenoble, 549 High St., where she had resided for many years. Mrs. Chatham had been ill for some time with a heart condition. She had spent the past five weeks visiting a friend, Mrs. Frank White of Oak Hall, and had been sick in bed for two weeks of that time. Havirg recovered, she returned to the Grenoble home yesterday, seemingly in her usual health. This morning the family heard her up in her room, but found her in a dying condition when they called her at 9 o'clock. Death was due to the coronary condition, the attending physician reported. Born in Oak Hall, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Israel Osman, she had lived in Fiemington from the time she was two years old. She was the widow of Harry Chatham. Her lodge affiliations included membership in Camp 73, Flemington P. O. of A., the Ladies of the Golden Eagle and Rebekah Lodge. She was also a member of the Flemington Methodist Church. Surviving in addition to Mrs. Grenoble, her only daughter, are three grandchildren; three great grandchildren and numeraous nephews and nieces. on February 25, 1947.3 She died on February 25, 1947 at Lock Haven, Clinton Co., Pennsylvania, at age 72.3,4

Metz, daughter of Samuel Smith Metz and Maud Elizabeth Chatham, circa 1915.2,6,4,7 Harry Hobbs Chenoweth died on April 3, 1950 at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, at age 57.2,3,4,7,5 He Lt. Comdr. Harry Hobbs Chenoweth of 1020 Lexington avenue, retired United States navy officer and veteran of both World wars, died last evening at 8 o'clock in the naval hospital at Philadelphia. A former employe of the Pennsylvania Railroad company and for many years an employe of the Pennsylvania Electric company, he had been in ill health for several years. He was readmitted to the hospital several days ago after spending a month at Atlantic City, N.J., in the interest of his health. Comdr. Chenoweth, a graduate of the United States Naval academy, was born Oct. 4. 1892, at Sunbury, Pa., the son of the late H. M. and Maria Louisa Hobbs Chenoweth. His father, who died in 1930, served for many years as chief clerk of the Altoona works. Comdr. Chenoweth graduated at the Altoona High school in 1910 and the United States Naval academy at Annapolis in 1915 with the rank of ensign. He saw considerable service in World War I with a destroyer fleet in Atlantic and Mediterranean waters and was wounded in action. As a reserve officer he was recalled to active naval service in 1910. He was stationed in the Philadelphia naval district in 1914 when he retired from active service and reestablished residence in Altoona. His service with the Pennsylvania railroad dated back to the period between 1907 and 1911 when he was employed as a chairman during summer vacations from school. After service as a commissioned naval officer from 1915 to 1920 he operated floating equipment as an assistant to the superintendent for the Pennsylvania Railroad company until 1922. During the period from 1922 to 1925 Mr. Chenoweth was employed is power engineer for the former Penn Central Light and Power Company, now the Penelec. He was district superintendent for Huntingdon county until 1828 and in the next two years served as assistant commercial manager at Altoona until appointed as commercial manager in 1930, a position he held until 1932 when he became assistant to the commercial vice president. He served as division manager In Altoona from 1932 until he reentered naval service In 1940, having received a leave of absence Sept. 1, 1940, from Penlec. Comdr. Chenoweth is survived by his wife, the former Miss Rebecca Metz of Altoona; two sisters, Mrs. G. Donald Fisher of Huntingdon and Mrs. Charles Alan Pownall of La Jolla, Calif., a daughter, Jane, the wife of Oliver Rothert of Hollidaysburg, and three granddaughters. The body is to be returned to Altoona for burial. Friends will be received after 7 o'clock tomorrow evening at the N. A. Stevens mortuary. on April 4, 1950.4
