Delores "Dee" Desper Hale, 58, of Lyndhurst, passed away Sunday, December 23, 2007 at her residence. Born June 26, 1949 in Staunton, she was a daughter of the late Howard Raymond and Annie Katherine Bowman Desper. Dee was a homemaker and a member of the White Hill Church of the Brethren. A member of the Moose Lodge #1309, she was also an amateur radio operator and loved to take care of her flowers. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by an infant sister, Norma Jean Desper. On October 21, 1988 Dee was united in marriage to Jerry L. Hale, Sr. who survives. Also surviving are children, Terry Hanger and husband, Scott of Crimora, Claude Edward Sheets, Jr. of Crimora, Dennetta Batten and husband, Jeff of Waynesboro, Jerry L. Hale, Jr. and wife, Lorie of Stuarts Draft and Pam Critzer and husband, Jeff of Nellysford; 16 grandchildren, Mark and Chelsie Raines, Nicholas Hanger, C.E., Jessica, Corey, Ben and Brandon Sheets, Jennifer DePriest, Kristin Batten, Jennifer, Jessica and Garrett Critzer, Brittney Mawyer, Bryan and Ashley Hale; eight great grandchildren; brothers, Raymond Desper and wife Brenda and Wendell Desper and wife Kay both of Staunton, Tommy Desper and wife Patricia of Newport News; a sister, Louise Desper Shipe of Waynesboro; a number of nieces and nephews; and special friend, Diane Smiley. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 27, 2007 at White Hill Church of the Brethren with Rev. James Chappell officiating. Hall, 97, of Union, formerly of Dunbar, went home to be with the Lord, surrounded by her family, on Saturday, Feb. 28, 2015 at Springfield Nursing Center, Lindside. She was a homemaker and a member of Dunbar United Methodist Church, Dunbar. Lena was preceded in death by her husband, Edward E. Hall; daughter, Barbara June Smith; and grandson, John Scott Smith. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Dowdy of Union; sons, James (Shigeko) Hall of York, Pa., and Richard (Nancy) Hall of York, S.C; brother, Carroll (Barbara) Hunt of Broken Arrow, Okla; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 23 great-great-grandchildren. Burial will follow at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes. The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of Springfield Nursing Center for their loving care of Lena. on March 2, 2015.3

Shigeko was born on January 26, 1932 in Zushi, Japan; a daughter of the late Kanji and Kane Morishita. In the 1960’s Shigeko worked for the US Army in Japan. She attended North Hills Bible Church and enjoyed passing down her love of knitting and crocheting to her granddaughters. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Hall is survived by two sons, Ronald E. and wife Victoria Hall of York and Ken and wife Deanna Hall of Bel Air, MD; three grandchildren, Kailyn, Lindsey, and Connor. She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. Tribute services will be private with burial at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.1 She was buried at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, Lebanon Co., Pennsylvania.1 She was born on January 26, 1932 at Zushi, Japan.1 As of circa 1963,her married name was Hall.1 She married James E.
