Barlick of Altoona, and four grandchildren, Mrs. Rothert was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Hollidaysburg. on April 16, 1981.7 She died on April 16, 1981 at Altoona, Blair Co., Pennsylvania, at age 64.8,7

He was bom in Altoona on Jan. 9, 1909, a son of Oliver and Carolyn (Harkins) Rothert, and on Sept. 29, 1937, married Thelma Jane Chenoweth of the city. Surviving are his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Carolyn Monier of Highlands, N.J., Rebecca and Jane, at home, and two brothers, Robert F. of Hollidaysburg and William T. of York. He was a member of the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, had attended Georgetown Preparatory School, Georgetown University and graduated from Babson Institute in Massachusetts. Mr. Rothert had been associated with the Rothert furniture stores for a number of years. Friends will be received in the Stevens Mortuary from 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow. on September 14, 1965.2

Fairview Streets, Lock Haven, Clinton Co., Pennsylvania.5 She was born on February 13, 1872 at Lock Haven, Clinton Co., Pennsylvania; Her death certificate has an impossible birth date of Feb 13, 1874.2,4,5 She Miss Eleanor Hall Kress, 77, a member of a family prominent in Lock Haven's lumbering era, died at 9.25 a.m. at the Lock Haven Hospital where she was admitted on Nov. 1. Miss Kress, who lived with her brother, Wilson C. Kress, Jr., at 344 W. Water St., became ill while attending aervlcea Sunday, Oct. 28, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church. Her death was attributed to pneumonia and complications. The daughter of the late Captain W. C. Kress and Elizabeth Chatham Kress, she was born in this city and lived here nearly all her life. She was a member of St. Paul's Church, had been graduated from Dickinson Seminary in Wllllamsport, and later studied at Rutgers, in New Brunswick, N.J. For several years she taught school at Rahway, N.J. When the Children's Aid Society was organized in this city, she served as its first secretary. She was also a member of the Lock Haven Civic Club and active in the Needlework Guild. Her only survivor, in addition to her brother, is a niece, Mrs. Ralph Sunergren, Hingham, Mass. on November 12, 1951.4 She died on November 12, 1951 at Lock Haven, Clinton Co., Pennsylvania, at age 79.4,5

Greeley on August 16, 1919 at Conway, Carroll Co., New Hampshire.6,8 James Chatham Kress died on November 24, 1919 at Chelsea, Suffolk Co., Massachusetts, at age 42.3,4,5 He Lieut. Commander James Chatham Kress of 46 Shepard st., Cambridge, died Monday night at the Naval Hospital, Chelsea, of heart trouble. He was a commander of the hydrographic office of the 1st Naval District. Lieut. Commander Kress was retired form active duty on March 29, 1913, but at the outbreak of the World War was recalled to duty and assigned to service overseas. He was born in Pennsylvania May 21, 1877, and was graduated from the Naval Academy. He is survived by his wife, daughter of Gen. Greeley, U.S.A. The couple had a Summer home at Conway, N.H. on November 26, 1919.4

C. Kress containing the sad news of the death of his son, Charles M. Kress, which occurred at 12:20 noon, at the University hospital. The news of the death of the talented and popular young man spread quickly and there was universal sorrow and deep regret expressed by the many friends of the deceased and the family. Charles Kress was a bright young man and was aged 24 years, his birthday occuring last Saturday. Two week ago he went to Philadelphia for treatment for nervous prostration. During last week reports regarding his condition were encouraging and his complete restoration to healt was hoped for. Sunday, however, a telegram was received by his father stating that he was very weak and his condition was not encouraging. Charles Kress was one of the most popular young men in Lock Haven. He was about completing his studies for admission to the Clinton county bar as an attorney. He was the Republican city chariman and was chosen by the Republican county convention one of the delegates to the state convention at Harrisburg. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Kress, two sisters, Anne and Eleanor and three brothers, Guy of St. Paul, Minn, James C. of the United States Navy and Wilson at home. on April 18, 1904.4 He died on April 18, 1904 at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, at age 24.4

Funeral arrangements are incomplete. on May 8, 1929.5 She died on May 8, 1929 at Neosho Township, Newton Co., Missouri, at age 41.5 She Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at the Central Methodist church for Mrs. Guy Kress, a faithful member of that church, whose death occurred early Wednesday morning. The services were conducted by the pastor, Rev. J. D. Prater, and the presence of the many friends who crowded the church, and the large number of exquisite floral tributes bore witness to the high regard felt for Mrs. Kress and of the deep sympathy extended to Mr. Kress and to other relatives. Burial was made in the I. O. O. F. cemetery under the direction of J. Ashley Bigham. on May 10, 1929.4

Tebbutis Sons' Funeral Home, 633 Central Ave., Albany. Mrs. Walter died Saturday in Albany Medical Center Hospital following a long illness. Mrs. Walter, widow of Floyd Walter, Albany's municipal carilloneur for 39 years, was the first women in Albany to head her own advertising agency, the Eleanor Chatham Walter Agency, Inc., which she opened in 1949. She had been active in the Humane Society since 1943, when she was elected to the board of directors. She became president of the society in 1945, and took over as acting manager of the Society in 1958 when illness forced the absence of the manager. In January, 1959, the society elected her executive director. During her tenure in the post, she was instrumental in expanding the facilities of the society's shelter in Menands and the Fulton County unit in Gloversville. An addition to the Menands shelter's main building, a "cat cottage" and enlarging of the pet cemetery were among the projects she pushed. She had also served as president of the New York State Humane Association from 1967 to 1969, when she resigned because of ill health. Mrs. Walter, the former Eleanor Chatham, was also a former feature editor for the Knickerbocker Press of Albany, and had served as an advertising representative for that paper and its successor, the Knickerbocker News. She was the first woman to sell newspaper display advertising in Albany and was the city's first woman radio advertising account executive. Her only survivor is a nephew, Charles Ripley of San Jose, Calif. on January 20, 1970.3

Mr. Foltz, a native and former resident of Williamsport, was born there June 6, 1909, a son of Elmer J. and Etta Mae Chatham Foltz. He was a retired former United States Air Force master sergeant who had been making his home in Lock Haven with his son, Harry E. Foltz, who survives. Also surviving are his wife, Edith, and a daughter, Miss Bonnie L. Foltz, of Windham, Ohio; a step-daughter, Mrs. Nancy Lupole, Pittsburgh; and one grandchild. Mr. Foltz was a member of LeRoy O. Buck Post, 7863, Veterans of Foreign Wars, DuBoistown; and an Ohio post of the American Legion. on January 20, 1971.4

Mrs. Raum taught at a number of private elementary schools in the Washington area before she turned to the public schools in Arlington, where she taught at Barrett Elementary and Woodmont Elementary schools. She retired in the mid-1970s. Born in New York City, she moved to the Washington area as a child and graduated from Roosevelt High School in the District in 1936. She graduated from New York University, and received a master's degree in education from Syracuse University about 1940. She joined the Marine Corps during World War II and remained a member of the Women Marines Association throughout her life. For more than 50 years, she was a member of St. George's Episcopal Church in Arlington, where she served with the vestry. She was president of the Region III Episcopal Church Women Association, was a foster parent and volunteered for Meals on Wheels and the American Heart Association. Her husband, Raymond B. Raum Sr., died in 1986. Survivors include two sons, Raymond B. Raum Jr. of Lorton and James S. Raum of Falls Church; a daughter, Nancy Q. Raum of Vienna; a foster child, Marilyn Cornish of Baltimore; and a granddaughter. on February 19, 2005.5
