Born Sept. 9, 1916 in Porkey, Forest County, he was a son of James Thomas and Mary Anna Hulings Walters. Mr. Walters had worked at Armstrong Forest, then at Penntech Papers in Johnsonburg. Later, he worked at Molded Materials of Ridgway until retiring in 1981. He was also a woodcutter for various companies in the area. An avid hunter and fisherman, Mr. Walters was a member of the Wilcox Sportsman Club and the Central Hose Company in Johnsonburg. He was married April 23, 1936, in Renovo, to the former Florence B. Clark, who preceded him in death in 1994. Mr. Walters is survived by two daughters, Donna Rae Sallack and Kim Walters, both of Johnsonburg; three sons, Daniel Walters of Vowinckel, and Donald Walters and Floyd H. Walters, Jr., both of Johnsonburg; two sisters, Twila Rossman of Cleveland and Ernestine Hallberg of Kane; one brother, Clyde Walters, Sr. of Wilcox; as well as 20 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Walters was preceded in death by one daughter, Daneen; a brother Howard "Joe" Walters; and one infant grandson. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a. m. today at the Ronald McDonald Funeral Home of Kane. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a. m. today in the funeral home with the Rev. Rodney Smith, pastor with the Forest United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in the Forest Lawn Cemetery, Kane. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the charity of one's choice. on May 24, 2000.⁴

Donna attended Wilcox schools and graduated from Johnsonburg High School in 1960. She worked at Kane Market Basket and retired from Houston Electronics of Kane. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and Johnsonburg Senior Center. She loved playing cards, was an avid BINGO player, liked the slots, loved to shop and spend time with her family. In addition to her husband, Alvan Eugene Sallack of Johnsonburg, she is survived by five children, Renee (Bill) Blankenship, Loren Sallack, Dawn (Lou) Karellas, David (Trista) Sallack and Alvan (Dawn) Sallack, all of Johnsonburg, and Tresa (Mike) Ouellette of Ridgway, who was like a daughter; 14 grandchildren, Kerri Shaffer, Ashley Polinski, Cassie Rockwell, Louie Karellas; Travis, Hunter, Kiersten, David, Alexis, MacKenzie, Jennifer and Scott Sallack, Mike and Dan Ouellette; five great-grandchildren, Nolan and Wyatt Shaffer, Jordan Polinski, Aubrey and Emmett Rockwell; three brothers, Dan (Carol) Walters of Vowinckel, Floyd Walters of Rasselas and Don (Kasumi) Walters of St. Marys; and one sister, Kim Walters of Johnsonburg. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Daneen Walters; and one sister-in-law, Patty Walters. on November 21, 2016.²
