He also was the regional supervisor for Unadillo Silo Co. and was the parts manager for Dunn's Construction. His last job prior to becoming disabled was at Allegheny College in the security department. He was a charter member of the Cochranton Sportsmen's Club, and a member of the National Rifle Association and the Northwest Fishing Club. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, the Pittsburgh Steelers, NASCAR and wrestling. Mostly he was remembered for his practical jokes and the many friends that he made, which he accepted like family. Survivors, in addition to his wife of nearly 50 years, include two sons, Douglas Emert and his wife, Maria, of Cochranton, and Dennis Emert of Monroeville; a daughter, Deborah DuPont and her companion, Tom Bean, of Cochranton; three grandchildren, Kathleen Maria Emert, Brian Douglas Emert and Matthew Bradley DuPont; and a sister, Genevieve Howick and her husband, Albert, of Cochranton. He was preceded in death by twin sisters, Carolyn Sivik and Marilyn Johnson. Friends may call at Dickson Family Funeral Home Inc., 123 S. Franklin St., Cochranton, today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday from the funeral home, with the Rev. John McGarvey of Cochranton Christian and Missionary Alliance Church officiating. Interment will be in Cochranton Cemetery. Memorials can be made to Cochranton Volunteer Fire Department, East Adams Street, Cochranton, Pa. 16314. on May 22, 2008.2

Frank Joseph Sivik was buried at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 2700 Deans Bridge Road, Augusta, Richmond Co., Georgia.1 He Frank Joseph Sivik, 84 beloved father, step father, grandfather and husband of Geraldine of 23 years, entered into rest on November 2, 2015. Frank was a native of Meadville, PA. At an early age, Frank entered the Army and proudly served his country for 26 years. He was a decorated veteran (Vietnam Service Medal and Bronze Star Medal) and loved serving and protecting his country. He served in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Frank was also a proud serving member of the Masonic Lodge and Eastern Star Chapter for over 50 years in Germany, GA and SC and a lifetime member of the DAV. Frank pursued his BBA after retiring from the Military and attended Augusta College and Limestone College. He completed his degree at the age of 56 from Limestone College. He loved traveling throughout the USA with his family. He was proud that he had visited over 42 states and 12 countries. Frank is preceded in death by his parents, Anne and Joseph Sivik; his twin sister, Frances Pete; and his first wife of 38 years, Carolyn Emert Sivik. Surviving family members include his devoted wife, Geraldine Stevenson Spires- Sivik; his daughters, Sandra Sivik, Gail Wren, Rebecca DuBose and Cindy Maddox; his step children include, Terri McCurdy, Robert Spires Jr. and Steven Spires; his grandchildren include, Christine Hayes, Kimberly Reeder, Ashley DuBose, Franklin Lennon, Amanda Lennon, Wesley Maddox, Stephanie Pierce, Samantha Adams, Cory Spires, Brandi Ray, Steven Spires Jr., Cameron McCurdy, Carson Mac McCurdy. In addition to his grandchildren, he enjoyed the company of 14 great grandchildren. A mother and homemaker, she was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Greenville where she belonged to the Gleaner's class and the quilter's group. A certified lay speaker for the United Methodist Church, she was a 2000 lay member from Tylersberg United Methodist Church to the Western Pennsylvania Conference of the United Methodist Church. Involved in a variety of community activities, she was a den leader for the Cub Scouts in Meadville, and a leader for the Greenville Girl Scouts, for whom she served as a neighborhood chairperson. The Meadville High School graduate was also past matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 63, Greenville, president of the Theil Women's Club, member of the Meadville chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, active member of the Gideon's Bible Society, and a volunteer at Greenville Hospice and in the Greenville Hospital Hospitality Shop. She had also been a member of the Pittsburgh Three Rivers Walk to Emmaus Community, volunteered for the Red Cross as an emergency coordinator following the 1985 tornado in Atlantic, and at one time served on the elections board for Clarion County. Survivors include her mother of Shippenville; three sons, Alfred A. Johnson Jr. of Greenville, Seth C. Johnson and his wife, Evelyn, of Greenville, and Walter (Wally) Johnson, and his wife, Terry; a daughter, Kathryn Kormos and her husband, Thomas; a brother, Carll Emert and his wife, Sue, of Cochranton; a sister, Genevieve Howick and her husband, Albert, of Cochranton; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband of 49 years, she was preceded in death by her father, an infant son and a twin sister, Carolyn Sivik. Calling hours will be Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Andrew H. Osborne III Funeral Home Inc., 73 and 75 Columbia Ave., Greenville. Friends may also call up to one hour before the funeral set for Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Calvary United Methodist Church in Greenville with the Rev. Barbara J. Moore of Wesley United Methodist Church in New Castle, officiating. She will be assisted by the retired Rev. Charles Polley of Greenville. A funeral procession to Stevenson Cemetery, Greenville, will follow. A graveside committal service will take place prior to burial. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and David Brown of West Springfield and Susan and Willaim Weese of Oil City; three grandchildren, April Robison of Wattsburg and Brian Weese and Aaron Weese, both of Oil City; and three great-grandchildren. She also is survived by two brothers, Lawrence "Bud" Shafer of Paintsville, Ky., and Earl Shafer of Oil City; and one sister, Mrs. Donald (Joan) Gold of Oil City. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Carll was preceeded in death by an infant brother, Robert Shafer. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with the Rev. Byron Myers, pastor of Grace United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Grove Hill Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be made to the Dialysis Unit of Northwest Medical Center. on November 1, 1997.2
