Bowers Shafer. She was a 1935 graduate of Oil City High School. Mrs. Carll lived most of her life in Oil City, working at the National Transit and Pennsylvania Electric Co. She was a membr of Grace United Methodist Church and the Hope Circle of the church, the Order of White Shrine and the Order of Eastern Star. Mrs. Carll was married Jan. 26, 1942 to Gordon R. Carll, who died Dec. 4, 1988. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and David Brown of West Springfield and Susan and Willaim Weese of Oil City; three grandchildren, April Robison of Wattsburg and Brian Weese and Aaron Weese, both of Oil City; and three great-grandchildren. She also is survived by two brothers, Lawrence "Bud" Shafer of Paintsville, Ky., and Earl Shafer of Oil City; and one sister, Mrs. Donald (Joan) Gold of Oil City. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Carll was preceeded in death by an infant brother, Robert Shafer. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with the Rev. Byron Myers, pastor of Grace United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Grove Hill Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be made to the Dialysis Unit of Northwest Medical Center. on November 1, 1997.2

He is survived by a brother, Allen R. Host of Gorham, N.H; and two sisters: Charlotte M. Zaffino of Warren and Audine Blum of Irvine. He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles F. Host; and a sister, Jeannette Licht. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Norman J. Wimer Funeral Home, Tionesta. The Rev. Anette V. Gerber, pastor of the Tionesta United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Tionesta.
