Dorothy Jo Hamlett was buried at Carolina Memorial Park, 7113 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston, Charleston Co., South Carolina.3 She Dorothy Jo Jessee of North Charleston, SC, wife of the late Homer Jessee, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Sunday, April 20, 2014. Dorothy was born on July 28, 1933 in Kingsport, TN, daughter of the late Joseph C. Hamlett and Viola Hamlett. Dorothy was a wife, mother, grandmother "Mamaw" and great-grandmother and spent her life making a loving home for her family. She is survived by her children, Tenna M. Goodyear (George) and Larry A. Jessee (Karen); four grandchildren, Jason, Brad, Brittany and Rachel; and three great-grandchildren, Dakota, Bailey and Parker. She is also survived by her sister, Patsy Miller (Mandy) of Hanover, PA, and an extended family of nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband of 51 years, Dorothy was predeceased by her sister, Lucille Christian of Kingsport, TN.
A graveside service will take place on Friday, April 25th, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in Carolina Memorial Park. Dorothy's nephew, Joe Miller, will be officiating the service. The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude for the wonderful care given by the hospice staff of Intrepid Hospice.3 She was born on July 28, 1933 at Kingsport, Sullivan Co., Tennessee.3 As of March, 1953,her married name was Jessee.5 She married Homer Jessee in March, 1953 at York Co., Pennsylvania.3,5 Dorothy Jo Hamlett died on April 20, 2014 at Charleston Co., South Carolina, at age 80.3
