She was born Aug. 10, 1914, in Rock, W.Va., a daughter of the late Sam White and Katherine Jones White Briggs. She was preceded in death by two brothers. Friends may call at Clarke Funeral Home, Toronto, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday; services there 1 p.m. Thursday, the Rev. James Humphrey; Toronto Union Cemetery. on December 30, 1990.4

He was a retired employe of the blast furnace department on Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. Mr. Davis was a member of the River Avenue Church of Christ.      Clyde Monroe Putnam was born on August 16, 1918 at Mavis, Braxton Co., West Virginia.2,1 He married Sadie Annie Mae White, daughter of Samuel Frederick "Sam" White and Ella Catherine "Cassie" Jones, on June 23, 1958.3,1,2 Clyde Monroe Putnam died on December 28, 2004 at Pittsburgh, Allegheny Co., Pennsylvania, at age 86.1,2 He Clyde Monroe Putnam, 86, of New Castle, Pa., a former resident of Toronto and Columbiana, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004, at the Southwestern Veterans Medical Center in Pittsburgh. Clyde was born Aug. 16, 1918, in Mavis (Braxton County), W.Va., son of the late John Monroe and Lucy Ellen Dunlap Putnam. He is a member of the First Christian Church of Columbiana, Ohio. His other memberships include, Triangle Senior Citizens of Calcutta, Ohio and the Weirton Steel 25-Year Club. Clyde is a veteran of the U.S. Army during W.W. II having served in the Pacific Theatre of Operations. He is retired from National Steel Corporation, Weirton Steel Division. Clyde was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sadie M. White Putnam, who passed away in 1990 and whom he married June 23, 1958; step-daughter, Marion Fowler; eight brothers; and two sisters. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Cameron Putnam of the home, whom he married July 30, 1991. Mr. Putnam's five children to a previous marriage are: two sons, Thomas Putnam and wife, Loretta of Barstow, Calif. and Clyde "Eddie" Putnam and wife, Connie of Whittier, Calif; three daughters, Barbara Maxwell and husband, Robert of Columbus, Ohio, Donna Olsen of Marysville, Ohio and Wanda Koski and husband, Richard of Toronto; a brother, Fred Putnam and wife, Blanche of East Liverpool, Ohio; stepson, Rody Exposito and wife, Helen of New Castle, Pa; two step-daughters, Linda Caniff of Edgewater, Fla. and Janet Spooner and husband, Paul of Lakeland, Fla; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Friends and family will gather for visitation today from 4-8 p.m. at the Clarke Funeral Home, 302 Main St., Toronto, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 31, with Minister Len Derico officiating. Burial will follow at the Toronto Union Cemetery where full military honors will be conducted by the Toronto American Legion. on December 30, 2004.1
