Born September 30, 1936 in Warford, (Summers County), he was the son of the late Oscar Harless Lawrence and Virginia Emogene Pettry Lawrence. He was a devoted and loving husband and father and friend to many. Eddie worked in the car sales business most of his life. Upon moving back to West Virginia in 1975, he worked for Andy Clark Ford in Princeton until his retirement in 1998. Eddie attended Peaceful Valley Church in Gardner. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Deloris "Gloria" Davis Lawrence; his daughter, Virginia Denise Wyatt of Lerona; his son, Daniel Eddie Lawrence and wife Teresa of Lewisburg; and his youngest son, Andrew Harless Lawrence who resided with and helped provide care for Eddie and Deloris; sisters, Mary and David Lively of Yorktown, Va., Joyce and Cary Cahoon of Highland Springs, Va; brothers, Fred and Rita Lawrence of Yorktown, Va., Jack and Joyce Lawrence of Pipestem, Bill and June Lawrence of Newport News, Va; grandsons, Justin Travis Wyatt and Paul Lawrence; granddaughters, Stephanie and Joe Terry, Annie and Matt Hill, Brianna Kristine Lawrence; great-grandchildren, Trenton and Jayden Hill. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 4, 2010 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Delmar Stilwell officiating. Burial will follow in the Pettry Family Cemetery just off Indian Ridge Road near Pipestem. on March 2, 2010.3

Jack worked as a supervisor for Newport News shipyard and had 46 years of credited service. Jacks real love was serving his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and for many years he worked in the Jail ministry in Newport News and then at the Southern Regional Jail in Beckley. Jack loved sharing the Gospel with those he met. He was a member of the Nimitz Missionary Baptist Church and the Gideon's International Beckley Camp. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jackie Lee Lawrence Jr. and a brother, Ed Lawrence. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 34 years, Joyce Ann Carter Lawrence, Four siblings and their spouses, Mary & David Lively, Fred & Rita Lawrence all of Yorktown VA, Joyce & Cary Cahoon of Highland Springs VA, Bill & June Lawrence of Newport News VA. A special cousin and his brother in Christ, David Pettry of Florida; A host of nieces and nephews. A service to celebrate the life of Jack Lawrence will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, July 28, 2012 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor's Gregory Norris, Donald Hannah & David Pettry officiating. Burial will follow in the Pettrey Family Cemetery on Indian Ridge near Pipestem. on July 28, 2012.3

Her world revolved around her husband of 56 years, her only daughter, Vickie and husband Kevin, her two grandchildren, and one grand-dog, "Cupcake". She loved to cook and enjoy her home, especially her screened in porch. While she will be immeasurably missed, we have the reassurance that she is in Heaven with our Lord, as Mary had a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Visitation will be from 12 to 1 PM Tuesday, June 23, 201 5 at W. J. Smith & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow at 1 PM with Pastor Larry Jones officiating. Burial will be at 3 PM at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk. on June 20, 2015.3

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Claude, Max and Eugene Irvin; and sisters Freda English and Aileen Kane. Mr. Irvin loved farming, his dogs, loved being outdoors and all outdoor activities. He loved most of all being with his family. Joe was a member of the Walpole Tuscan Lodge 630 Masonic Lodge. He was also a past member of the McLeansboro VFW Post 1671. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Corps and was stationed in Guam. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, April 11, at Harre Funeral Home with the Revs. Mike Fields and Mark Byars officiating. Burial will be at Hickory Hill Cemetery in Walpole. Graveside military rites will be accorded by American Legion Post 106, McLeansboro and the Military Honors Team of Marion. on April 9, 2014.2

A graveside service will be at Riverside National Cemetery, with his son, Elder Steve Huyett, officiating. on December 21, 1988.7
