Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Dodd-Payne Funeral Home in Fayetteville with Rev. Ted Fox in charge. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery. He was a wonderful husband and father and was always there for his children. Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Judy Shawkey; son, Charles D. "Dennie" (Erin) Shawkey II of Boomer; daughter, Rebecca (Donald) Ballard of London; grandchildren, Charles Dirk Ballard, Cheyenne Danae Ballard and Gianna Grace Shawkey; aunt, Martha Kees of Pratt; and sister-in-law, Elizabeth Poff of Pratt. Service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Boomer Baptist Church with the Rev. James Neeson officiating. Burial will follow in Montgomery Memorial Park, London. on April 12, 2011.²

She served as a Cub Scout Leader and was a Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary International. She served as an Elder of the First Presbyterian Church in Winchester and was a member of Chapel Hill Presbyterian Church, Lexington. Surviving besides her husband are three sons, U.S. Army Colonel Philip Kenneth Miller and wife Brenda of Lexington, Edwin Anderson Miller of Key West, FL and Daniel Harlan Miller and wife Lisa of grandchildren Whitney Blair Davis, Meredith Charlotte Miller, Wilson Dudley Miller; great-granddaughter Ella Blair Davis and sister Betty Buck of Grand Junction, CO. Services will be 3 pm Wed. at W.R. Milward Mortuary-Broadway conducted by Rev. Dr. Edward H. Mesta. Burial will be 2 pm EST Thurs. at the Skaggs Creek Cemetery in Monroe County, KY, with Dr. David Blondell officiating. on March 20, 2005.²

Jackie was loved and admired as a loving grandmother, a beautiful mother, and a fantastic sister. We know she is happy and at peace with the spiritual world above us.
