He was appointed and served a two year term as a Magistrate in Mercer County, he was head of the Security Department for Stone and Thomas Department Store for many years. He then was employed by Mercer County Bank (One Valley Bank) of Princeton. He was of the Methodist faith. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sue McGinnis, along with a brother, Charlie Thorn and a sister, Mabel “Dutch” White. Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Margaret Louise Via Thorn; one daughter, Mary Ann Walter and husband John of Princeton; two grandchildren, John H.
