She was born on August 15, 1917 Mae was preceded in death by her 2 husbands, Ervie Ghan and R.E. Taylor, her parents, Bud and Neal Salkil, 2 daughters: Ethel Miller and Patsy Maples, 2 brothers, 1 sister and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She is survived by 2 daughters: Sharon Maples and husband Jerry of Clever, Kathy Alff and husband Richard of Springfield; 2 sons: Keith Taylor and Joyce of Springfield, and Everett Taylor and wife Melba of Jacksonville, FL; 2 sisters: Linna Hancock of Bois D'Arc and Hester Mantle and husband Bill of Kansas City; 2 brothers: Henry Salkil of Nixa and Finis Salkil of Humansville. Plus 17 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren and a host of other family members and friends. Mae was saved at the age of 16 and loved her Lord. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many during her life span. Visitation will be Thursday February 26th at Walnut Lawn Funeral Home from 6 to 8 PM. He was an ordained Baptist Church minister in Oakwood, Chadwick and Betbel. Surviving are his wife, Florence, Nixa; two sons, James, of Nixa and Richy, of Clever; two daughters, Mrs. Joyce Keithley and Mrs. Janet Keithley, both of Clever; his mother, Mrs. Neal Salkil, Boil D'Arc; two step-sons, Carl Wilson, Springfield, and Jerry Wllson, of the state of Pennsylvania; a step-daughter, Miss Nancy Wilson, Lincoln, Mo; four brothers, Allen, of Springfield, Henry, or Nixa, Eldon, of Davenport, Iowa, and Finis, of Glasgow; four siaters, Mrs. Mae Taylor, Springfield, Mrs. Linnia Hancock, Bois D'Arc, Mrs. Evelyn Jones, Miller, and Mrs. Hester Mantle, Raytown, five grandchildren and three step-grandchildren. on June 11, 1977.⁵

Salkil, 80, of Nixa, MO passed away Friday August 7, 2009 in his home. He was born April 25, 1929 in Brookline, MO., the son of Hershall and Neal Graves Salkil. He was united in marriage to Henrietta Bebout on September 3, 1949. They enjoyed 59 years, 11 months and 4 days of married bliss. Henry enjoyed hunting, fishing, dancing and farming. He spent most of his life as a dairy milker. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by all. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and three brothers. Henry is survived by his wife Henrietta Salkil of the home, two daughters Barbara Cook of Mansfield, MO, and Joyce Fattig of Springfield, MO, two sons, Steven Salkil of Seymour, Mo and Daniel Salkil of St. Louis, MO, two sister; Linna Hancock and Hester Mantle one brother Finis Salkil, nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Visitation will be held Tuesday August 11, 2009 from 6:00 - 8:00 Pm in the Walnut Lawn Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will be Wednesday August 12, 2009 at 10:00 AM in the Chapel. burial will follow at Hopedale Cemetery in Ozark, MO. on August 10, 2009.⁴

     Ervin Edmon/Edmund "Ervie" Ghan was buried at Delaware Cemetery, Nixa, Christian Co., Missouri.^2,5 His Social Security Number was 496-07-1932.^6,4 He Ervie Ghan, 24, was critically injured on Aug. 6, while at work when 25 bales of hay fell on him in Punta, Calif. He passed away three days later in a California hospital. Survivors include his wife, May; three daughters, Ethel, Patsy and Sharon Kay, all of the home in Punta; one brother, Clyde, of Aurora; three sisters, Mrs. Hurbert Green of Pierce City, Mrs. Hobert Andrews of Crane, Mrs. Eddie Ebert of Billings; two half brothers, Junior of Logan, and Charles of Clever, and his father, John of Clever. The body was brought to Billings for burial. Funeral services were held Aug. 15, at Delaware Church with Rev. Lynn Swadley of Springfield officiating. Burial was made in the church cemetery under the direction of the Wilburn Maples Funeral Home of Clever.⁵

     Troy Ray Batson was buried at Manley Cemetery, Greene Co., Missouri.² He was born on May 13, 1913 at Missouri.^1,2 He married Linnia Marie Salkil, daughter of Herschel Allen "Bud" Salkil and Neal Cornwallace Graves, in 1938.¹ Troy Ray Batson died on July 15, 1948 at Christian Co., Missouri, at age 35; Died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.²

     Glen McBride Hancock was buried at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Springfield, Greene Co., Missouri.^2,3 He was born on December 12, 1916 at Murdo, Jones Co., South Dakota.² He married Linnia Marie Salkil, daughter of Herschel Allen "Bud" Salkil and Neal Cornwallace Graves, in March, 1951.¹ Glen McBride Hancock died on November 25, 2012 at Missouri at age 95.² He Glen McBride Hancock was born on December 12, 1916 near Murdo, South Dakota. He entered into heaven on November 25, 2012 reuniting with his wife Linnia. He was a retired dairy farmer from Bois D'Arc and was a World War II veteran serving in the Philippines and Japan. He was honorably discharged as a corporal from the United States Army. Glen was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Wesley and Verna McBride Hancock; brothers, Lloyd and Gene; sisters, Opal, Ada and Mae; son, Ray Batson and daughter, Joyce Brogno. He is survived by three sons, Don Batson and Caroline, Glen L. Hancock, David Hancock and Cindy; 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and a host of family and friends. Glen loved Linnia and missed her terribly for 1 year and 20 days. They are taking long walks, fishing, watching the bird dogs work and just being together forever. A visitation is scheduled for Thursday, November 29, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at White Chapel, 5234 W. State Highway EE, Springfield. Funeral service will be held Friday, November 30, 2012 at 2 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens. Family has requested donations be made in Glen's name to the Bois D'Arc Baptist Church, P. O. Box 526, Bois D'Arc, MO 65612 on November 27, 2012.²

     Hester Louise Salkil was buried at Mineral Creek Cemetery, Leeton, Johnson Co., Missouri.³ She Hester Louise Mantle, 77 of Leeton, Missouri passed away Friday, November 25, 2016 at Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, Missouri. Hester was born November 18, 1939 in Springfield, Missouri, one of nine children, to Bud and Neil Salkhil. She was raised near Springfield. She was united in marriage to Billy K. Mantle on August 21, 1958 in Kansas City. The couple resided in Kansas City for thirteen years and later, Raytown for ten years. In 1984, the couple moved to a farm near Leeton. Hester was an avid reader and baseball fan. She also enjoyed doing family genealogy and spoiling her pets. Survivors include her husband, Billy; daughter: Dana Cease and fiancé, Harvey Woods of Leeton, MO; two sons: Duane Mantle and wife, Debbie of Odessa, MO and Darrin Mantle and wife, Lisa of Stover, MO; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and three sisters. Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 1st at Williams Funeral Chapel in Warrensburg with Rev. Sid Tiller of Northside Christian Church officiating. Interment will follow at Mineral Creek Cemetery in Leeton. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 30th at the funeral home.³ She was born on November 18, 1939 at Springfield, Greene Co., Missouri.^9,3 As of January 3, 1957,her married name was Adams.¹ She married Robert Leroy Adams on January 3, 1957 at Greene Co., Missouri.¹ As of August 21, 1958,her married name was Mantle.⁹ Hester Louise Salkil married William K. She was a hommaker and former Christian County resident. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Church near Highlandville. Survivors include three daughters, Nancy Hare, Lincoln, and Joyce Keithly and Janet Keithly, both of Clever; four sons, Jerry Wilson, Fairhaven, Md., Carl Wilson, Springfeild, Jim Salkil, Nixa, and Rick Salkil, Clever; three sisters, Viola Cluck and Mildred Denny, both of Springfield, and Charlene Schupbach, Nixa; a brother, Roy Breshears, Springfield, and 13 grandchildren. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home. on April 22, 1985.²
