     Hilda Marie Davis Mrs. Marie Davis Cornelissen, 59, died Tuesday, March 20, 2001, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born March 13, 1942, in Forsyth County to Grover Worth and Lucille Helsabeck Davis. Mrs. Cornelissen was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother who had a strong faith in God. She was preceded in death by her husband, Morris Nelson Cornelissen. Surviving are two daughters, Karen Welborn and husband David of Walkertown and Sharon C. Lawson of King; a son, Eugene Morris Cornelissen of Winston-Salem; five grandchildren, Ashley Hancock, Brian and Candice Lawson, Audrey and Kenneth Cornelissen ; her mother of Tobaccoville; and three sisters, Faye Lockhart of Tobaccoville, Betty Davis and Helen Gordon, both of Winston-Salem. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel, with the Rev. Tom Welborn officiating. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens. Lillie dedicated her life to the care of others. Caring for her husband injured in the military and also who suffered from Parkinson's, as well as other family members. Lillie loved to cook for family gatherings and tending to her garden and her beloved flowers. A special thanks to all her caregivers and especially Maxine Hall. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, December 9, 2016 at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, December 8, 2016 at Lotz Funeral Home Salem. on December 8, 2016.8

Mr. Manning retired as concrete construction foreman for Ballinger Paving Company in Greenville, S.C., and after retirement enjoyed gardening and wood working. He was preceded in death by son, Gerald L. Manning; and also an infant son. Survivors include wife, Virginia L. Manning; daughters and sons-in-law, Martha and Jim Hardman, of Covington, and Lisa and Jerry Harvey, of McCalla, Ala; son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Kay S. Manning, of Thompson; grandchildren, Kelli Harvey, Melissa Hardman, and Patrick Harvey; sisters and brother-in-law, Lillie Mae Clinginpeel, and Mary Jane and Bernice Farmer; brother and sister-in-law, William and Gerri Manning; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mr. Manning will be held 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 24, 2009, at Lovejoy United Methodist Church with the Rev. Rick Gravitt officiating and interment following in Lovejoy UMC Cemetery.
