Floyd was born July 21, 1925 in Springfield, Missouri to Robert and Bertha (Dameron) Salkil. He served in the US Navy during WWII and was overseas for four years serving on the U.S.S. Hunter Liggett and the U.S.S. Hayes. He retired from Sweetheart Cup Company. Floyd loved animals and sports, he enjoyed playing and watching football, baseball, golf and bowling. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Craig and his granddaughter, Michelle. He is survived by his wife, Doris of the home; his two daughters, Linda Hines of Brookline, and Patti Wilson and her husband Jeff of Springfield; four grandchildren: Yvette, Mark, Samantha, Chris and their spouses; eight great grandchildren and a nephew, Gary Karnaghon and family of Memphis, Tenn. A memorial service will be at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, 2008 in Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home 500 E. Walnut Street. No visitation is planned.3 He was born on July 21, 1925 at Springfield, Greene Co., Missouri.8,3 He married Doris L. Rainwater on March 26, 1949 at Boone Co., Arkansas.9,2 Floyd O. A lifelong Greene County resident, she was a member of Elwood Assembly of God Church. Surviving are her husband, Floyd C; two sons, Don G., of Route 4, and Charles F., of Willard; a daughter, Mrs. Georgia Ann Hendrix, Washbum; a brother, Fred, of Walnut Grove; two sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Glidewell, Brookline, and Mrs. Rhetta Schofield, Route 4; seven grandchildren
and three great-grandchildren. on November 21, 1975.6
