Meadows of Morgantown; five daughters, Dottie Cockrum of Kingsport, Tenn., Carolyn Fritz of Panama City, Fla., Linda Corbitt of Villa Rica, Ga., Penny James of Huntsville, Ala., and Mable Slate of Maryville, Tenn; four brothers, John Tolliver of North Carolina, Malcolm Tolliver of Beckley, Lee Tolliver of Virginia and Max Tolliver of Florida; a sister, Beatrice Farr of Surveyor; a special sister-in-law Selma Tolliver of Beckley; 14 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren. Service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Callaway Heights Baptist church, Beckley, with the Rev. Bill Parker officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley. on November 2, 2001.5

She loved to garden and was a member of the Cornerstone Freewill Baptist Church in Crab Orchard. She had been a long time resident of Lester. Survivors include her sons, David (Dusty) and Scotty Farr and wife Diana of Lester; grandchildren Sherry, David, Tammy, Buffy, Walter Scott and Elizabeth; brothers, Max Tolliver of Ft. Myers, Fla. and Lee Tolliver of Franklin, Va; niece, Dorothy Cochran and husband Jeff of Tennessee; a very special friend, Teressa Tessaro and a host of other family and friends. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Roger Tolliver officiating. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to service on Wednesday. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. on March 26, 2014.6

Tolliver of Fort Myers, Florida; two daughters, Star Thiema and her husband, Alan, of Yuma, Arizona, and Buttons Carpenter and her husband, Richard, of Fort Myers, Florida; a grandson, Mr. Danny A. Weakley; great-grand-daughters, Miss Shelby Weakley and Miss Bailey Weakley of Dallas, Texas. Joyce is also survived by her sister, Elizabeth Davis and her husband, Norman, of Beckley, West Virginia; and a brother, Mr. Sonny Clay and his wife, Shirley, of Stanardsville, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Golf (Mary) Clay of Beckley, West Virginia; and a brother, Mr. Nathan "Buddy" Clay and his wife, Jean, of Lodi, California. Joyce and Max had just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in May of 2008. Joyce was a Registered Nurse and worked at the Pine Crest Tuberculosis Hospital in Beckley, West Virginia, and at the Blue Ridge Tuberculosis Hospital in Charlottesville, Virginia. She retired from nursing in 1970. Max and Joyce have lived in Fort Myers, Florida, since 1997, after many years in Stanardsville, Virginia. Joyce has always been very active in her church and her hobbies and crafts. She spent many hours oil painting, line dancing, crafting, fishing, and boating throughout her life. The family requests that any memorial gifts and donations be made to Hope Hospice at Shell Point. Foy Willis Watson Watson Rites Set Sunday Afternoon - F. W. Watson of Prosperity who was killed in a truck accident on April 29 at Stewart, Fla., will be interred in the Maben cemetery Sunday afternoon following services at the Rose Funeral home at 1:30 o'clock. The Rev G. W. Stewart, pastor of the Methodist Temple, will officiate. Watson is survived by his wife Mrs. Dina Watson and five children, Mrs. George Rosenbaum of Chiloway Heights and Paul, Foy and David and Alice Joan Watson all at home. Also surviving are C. B. Watson of Baltimore Md., a brother, Mrs. John Holland of Beckley, Mrs. John Sizemore of Maben and Mrs. James Burkette of Toledo Ohio, sisters; Spiegal Watson, half-brother; Mrs. Hattie Ward, Huntington and Gladys Watson, a member of the Women's Army Corps, half-sisters. Active pallbearers will be Grover Rosenbaum, John Sutten, Wilson Hamilton, Harm Woods, Emmette Sanner and Covert Wood.4 He was buried at Tolliver Cemetery (also known as Cox Cemetery), Twin Falls State Park, Saulsville, Wyoming Co., West Virginia.5 He was born on June 19, 1898 at Crandull, Johnson Co., Tennessee.2,3,7 He married Dinah Mae "Dina" Toliver, daughter of Stephen Lee Toliver and Rebecca Jane Mullens, on August 14, 1920 at Wyoming Co., West Virginia.3,6 Foy Willis Watson died on April 29, 1945 at Stuart, Martin Co., Florida, at age 46.4

Paul was born on October 26, 1923, in Wyoming County to the late Foy Watson and Diane 'Tolliver' Watson. He was a coal miner for New River Coal Company for 32 years. He was also a member of the Maple Valley Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 53 years until her passing Pearl Watson; brothers David and Junior Watson; and a sister Irene Rosenbawn. Those left to cherish his memory are his children Roger Watson of St. Albans, Danny Lee Watson and his wife Shari of Maple Fork, Barbara Clinton of Maple Fork, Mary Carter and husband Joe of Concord, N.C., Donna Miller and husband Don of Coal City; sister Joan Evans and husband Ronnie of Kerryville, Texas; and fifteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mr. Watson will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, July 6, 2009, at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley with the Rev. Harman Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity. on July 3, 2009.2

Born in Wyoming County, Oct. 12, 1859, his wife, Emma Paradine Evans, preceded him in death in 1937. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Curtis Koontz, Beckley, and Mrs. T. E. Hill, Beckley; three sons, John, Ross, and Vaden Evans, all of Beckley; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. The body will remain at the Calfee Funeral Home until 10 a.m. Monday when it will be removed to the residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today from the Zion Primitive Baptist Church on the 19-21 By-pass. Elder Eugene Nichols of Sophia will officiate. Interment will follow in the family plot of the Canaday Cemetery, Glen White. Active pallbearers will include W. W. Martin, E. S. Halstead, Ray Basham, C. E. Williams, Carl Hill, and B. F. Board. on May 15, 1950.4

Evans, co-owner of Warren Evans Motor Co., was born in Saulsville, Wyoming County, the son of Uria and Paradine Evans. He moved to Raleigh County in 1903 and attended Raleigh County schools. Survivors include his wife, the former Cora L. Snyder, and a daughter and a son, Mrs. Elouise Crook and John W. Evans Jr., of Beckley. Evans had been engaged in various phases of transportation and the automotive business since organizing the Gulf Transportation Co., now part of the consolidated Bus Lines; and the Bluefield Beckely Transit Co., now a subsidary of Atlantic Greyhound Lines. At one time he operated all of the bus lines serving Beckley except The Quesenberry Bus Line. He was associated with the Beckley Auto Wrecking Company, and prior to assuming co-ownership of Ward-Evans Motor Co., he was supervisor of transportation for the Raleigh County Board of education for five years. The family is en route to Beckley. on April 6, 1959.9
