Wanda was born January 12, 1921 in Mercer County. She was the daughter of the late Russell and Nannie Lawrence. Wanda grew up in Princeton and later married the love of her life, Clifton Sizemore. The couple settled in Sophia where they raised their 5 children, Reba Blevins, Jack Blevins, Joyce Pender, Brian Sizemore and Reba Grimmett. Wanda was a devoted and loving mother. She dedicated her life to raising her children in a strong Christian household and spent her time spreading the gospel. She attended Soak Creek Gospel Tabernacle as well as Church of the Bible Covenant. She enjoyed going to church, camp meetings, singing and spending time with her family and beloved dog, Brandy. Wanda was known for her feisty spirit and sense of humor. Her strong faith and relationship with God was remarkable. She will be missed by all that knew her. Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, William Clifton Sizemore; father, Russell Lawrence, mother, Nannie Lawrence; daughter, Joyce Pender; brother, Russell Junior Lawrence; son, Jack Sizemore and grandson, Whitley Pender. Funeral services will be 1 pm Monday, February 12, 2018 in the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Gregory Blevins officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to service on Monday. Pallbearers will be Brian Sizemore, Brian Sizemore II, Thomas Marion, Randy Ward, John Blevins, Terry Clay and Caleb Grimmett. on February 10, 2018.4

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 71 years, Ryan M. Lawrence, Jr. of the home. She was adored and cherished by her children, sons, Michael Ryan Lawrence and wife Janie of Rock, WV; Timothy Wayne Lawrence and wife Pam of Ruther Glen, VA; daughters, Linda Gail Augustosky and husband Frank of Rock, WV; Judith Diane Pendergrass and husband Roy of Rock, WV; Susan Beth Mallamaci and husband Tony of Bluefield, WV and Deborah Carol Nolley and husband Steve of Rocky Gap, VA. Two brothers, Tracy Dillard Keys and wife Ann of Chesterfield, Ohio and Frank Keys and wife Shirley of Beckley, West Virginia. She had 17 beautiful grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Lawrence, 85, of Roanoke, Va., was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, June 19, 2018. She was born on Monday, March 13, 1933, in Princeton, W.Va., daughter of the late Coy Royster Cole Jr. and Virgie Mae Riffe Cole. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, James Wesley Lawrence. Alene grew up in Rock, W.Va. She married her high school sweetheart, James, on August 18, 1951. Their journey together led them from West Virginia to Austria, Chicago, and lastly Virginia. Beginning in 1968, Alene enjoyed a long exemplary career with Elizabeth Arden and its predecessors. Alene and James were charter members of the Salem Church of God where she faithfully served as a Sunday School teacher for many years. Alene was a godly woman who was gracious, kind, and loving, always preferring others above herself. She will be treasured as a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother. Alene is survived by her children, James David Lawrence and wife, Sally Brewer Lawrence, Steven Wesley Lawrence, Mark Stuart Lawrence and wife, Lauren L. Lawrence, and Cathy Lynn Lawrence; grandchildren, James S. Lawrence and wife, Katie Lawrence, Cole S. Lawrence and wife, Lindsey Lawrence, Joshua R. Lawrence and wife, Cynthia Lawrence, and Ivey E. Amburgey and husband, Andrew Amburgey; siblings, Peggy Yeary and husband Phil, and Leoma Worthington; and beloved pets, Susy, Lissy Lou, and Sulmi. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, June 24, 2018, at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem, Va. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 25, 2018 in the funeral home's chapel with Rev. Mark Cary officiating. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park. The family extends special thanks to Dr. Vashist Nobbee of Lewis Gale Physicians for his loving care. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Good Samaritan Hospice at 2408 Electric Road in Roanoke, Va. 24018. on June 23, 2018.2

Mr. Lawrence was employed in the trucking industry after serving in the U.S. Army in Korea and during his working career he lived in Staunton, Va., Charlottesville, Va., and Harrisburg, N.C. and has been a resident of Princeton for the last several years, caring for his parents prior to their passing. Frank was an avid fan of Country and Southern Gospel Music and Nascar Racing, spending his latter years with his loving pet, Taco, at his home in Princeton. Mr. Lawrence is survived by his immediate family including three brothers, Ryan Lawrence Jr. and wife, Dollie of Rock, W.Va., James W. Lawrence and wife, Alene of Roanoke, Va., Arlie E. Lawrence and wife, Pat of Greenville, N.C; and one sister, Rita Price and husband, James of Statesville, N.C; various other family members including cousins, nieces, and nephews live primarily in the Princeton area. Mercer County Veteran Counsel will conduct military graveside rites on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in the Chapel of the Wildwood Mausoleum. on April 12, 2012.6

After retiring , he worked part time for 12 years at Westendorf Printing Co. in Dayton, OH. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Kettering. The family wishes to thank the many friends who helped care for him during many years of illness. Funeral Service 2 pm Monday September 3, 2007 at the Tobias Funeral Home-Far Hills Chapel 5471 Far Hills Ave at Rahn Rd. Dr Barry Jude officiating. Visitation 12 noon to 2 pm Monday at the funeral home. Additional services will be held in W. VA on Tuesday at the Tyree FH followed by interment at High Lawn Memorial Park. on September 2, 2007.3
