Wickline; daughters and sons-in-law, Trudy and Andy Creed, Dreama and Jeff Williamson, Connie and David Breslin, and Cindy Trobaugh; grandchildren, Wendy Pombo, Baye Williamson, Jacob Williamson, Bryce Williamson (Eddie Myers), John Breslin, Patrick Breslin, and Erin Trobaugh (Mike); great-grandchildren, Amelia and Brayden Williamson and Joey and Thea Trobaugh; and a host of special nieces and nephews. Max retired from the Engineering Department at Rowe Furniture after 40 years of service. Since his retirement, he has enjoyed hunting, fishing, bridge, traveling and most of all spending time with his family. He was a charter member of Grandin Court Baptist Church since 1945 and a member of the Sherwood Archery Club since 1972. Interment will follow at Evergreen Burial Park. on November 13, 2022.³

Born in Floyd County, Va., in March, 1891, he was a son of Jake and Ellen Terry Sigmon. A lifelong resident of East Gulf, he was employed by the C. H. Mead Coal Co., and was a member of UMW Local 6109. Survivors include four sons, Raymond, of Helen; Charley, of Coal City; Ordie, of Killarney; and Henry, stationed in the Army in Germany; two daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Damewood, of Mead, and Mrs. Irene Hodge, Charleston; six brothers, Mowyer, Everett, and Woodrow, all of Kimball; Melvin, Daniel, and Lorton, all of Rocky Mount, Va; three sisters, including Mrs. Girlie Brogan, of Rocky Mount. The body will remain at the Calfee Funeral Home until 4 p.m. Saturday, at which time it will be removed to the residence of his son, Ordie, at Killarney. on October 9, 1953.⁶

Survivors are his widow, Irene Sigmon of Princeton; five sons, Kermit Sigmon and Willard Sigmon, both of Rt. 3, Bluefield, Donald and Ronald Sigmon, both of Alexandria, Va., and Dennis Sigmon of Princeton; two daughters, Cheri Sigmon of Princeton and Mrs. Brenda Schrader of Madison Heights, Mich; four brothers, Everett Sigmon of Kimball, Moyer Sigmon of Narrows, Va., Dan Sigmon of Rocky Mount, Va., and Melvin Sigmon of Bassett, Va; two sisters, Mrs. Dora Purdy of Roanoke, Va., and Mrs. Ora Gibson of Alexandria, Va; 16 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Bailey Funeral Home Chapel in Princeton with Rev. Charles Addington officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. on February 16, 1974.⁶
