Sandra was a member of The Women of the Moose Chapter 1323 since 1987 and served as chairman for different committees, but most notable was serving as Senior Regent from 1993-1994 and again from 1996-1997. She enjoyed serving the Moose Chapter and all the friends at the lodge. She is survived by daughter, Teresa Rexrode Rock (Tom) of Aberdeen, NC; son, David William Rexrode of Durham; grandchildren, Travis and Robert Rexrode both of Charlotte; great grandchildren, Liam, Joel and Lilliana. on February 18, 2020.3

She graduated from Memminger High School, class of 1934, and was President of Vota Vita Young People's Department under the tutelage of Mrs. J.C. Mosell. Mrs. Gearhart was a member of Charleston Heights Baptist Church for over 20 years, and was active in the Sunday School. She was employed at F.W. Woolworth in the program office staff. Mrs. Gearhart is survived by her brother: Judge Clarence E. Singletary of Moncks Corner SC; daughters: Charlotte G. McCants (Alan) of Manassas VA, and Ellen L. Gearhart of Hanahan SC; grandsons: Andrew P. McCants (Linda) of Bristow VA, and Brian A. McCants (Sally) of Columbia SC; great granddaughters: Berkeley Abigail, and Leah Michaele. She was preceded in death by her husband, Berkley A. Gearhart. Interment following in Carolina Memorial Park. on June 22, 2011.1

Charlotte was born April 16, 1944 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late Berkley Andrew Gearhart and the late Irene Singletary Gearhart. Charlotte was a graduate of Chicora High School and the College of Charleston. She previously worked at the Atlanta Public Library, the US Government Printing Office in Washington, DC and Signal Hill Elementary School in Manassas. She loved cooking, gardening, reading and family camping trips. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Manassas. In addition to her husband Alan, she is survived by two sons, Brian Alan McCants (Sally) of Columbia, SC and Andrew Paul McCants (Linda) of Bristow, VA; five grandchildren, Berkeley McCants, Claire McCants, Allison McCants, Rebecca McCants and Leah Hug; and sister, Ellen Louise Gearhart of Hanahan, SC.2 She was buried at Riverview Memorial Park, 3715 Azalea Drive, North Charleston, Charleston Co., South Carolina.2 She was born on April 16, 1944 at Charleston, Charleston Co., South Carolina.2 As of September 3, 1966,her married name was McCants.3 She married Alan Lipscomb McCants on September 3, 1966 at Charleston, Charleston Co., South Carolina.1,2,4,3 Charlotte Anne Gearhart died on January 25, 2024 at Virginia at age 79.2
