He was predeceased by his son, Brad Edmonds, and parents, Willie and Lola May Edmonds. Gearhart and William Mack Rexrode were divorced on January 20, 1975 at Durham Co., North Carolina.⁵ Sandra L. Gearhart died on February 15, 2020 at Jacksonville, Onslow Co., North Carolina, at age 81.³ She Sandra Gearhart Rexrode, 81, passed away Saturday, February 15, 2020 at Onslow Memorial Hospital. She was born March 17, 1938, daughter of the late, Howard Neal Gearhart and Alice Canada Gearhart Evans. Sandra was born in Durham, NC and attended Durham High School where she enjoyed marching band. Sandra played classical piano, but also enjoyed dancing and loved music. Sandra fell in love with the beach and Swansboro and moved from Durham to Swansboro in 1985. Sandra worked in various administrative positions at Duke Hospital and VA Medical Center in Durham before transferring to Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune. Sandra was a member of The Women of the Moose Chapter 1323 since 1987 and served as chairman for different committees, but most notable was serving as Senior Regent from 1993-1994 and again from 1996-1997. She enjoyed serving the Moose Chapter and all the friends at the lodge. She is survived by daughter, Teresa Rexrode Rock (Tom) of Aberdeen, NC; son, David William Rexrode of Durham; grandchildren, Travis and Robert Rexrode both of Charlotte; great grandchildren, Liam, Joel and Lilliana. on February 18, 2020.³

He is survived by his daughter, Teresa Capps; son, David Rexrod; two sisters, Margurite Malcolm and Rita Bailey; two grandchildren, Travis and Robert Rexrode; and also surviving him is his Florida family. on October 30, 2011.⁴

     Irene Louise Singletary was buried at Carolina Memorial Park, 7113 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston, Charleston Co., South Carolina.¹ Her married name was Gearhart.¹ She married Berkeley Andrew Gearhart, son of Maurice Morgan Gearhart and Bertha Ann Branson.^1,3 Irene Louise Singletary was born on September 18, 1915 at Pinopolis, Berkeley Co., South Carolina.^1,2 She died on June 22, 2011 at Berkeley Co., South Carolina, at age 95.¹ She Irene Louise Singletary Gearhart, of Hanahan, SC, entered into eternal rest June 22,2011. She was born in Pinopolis SC on September 18th, 1915 to the late Joseph Matthew Singletary and Charlotte Mims Singletary. Irene was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of Citadel Square Baptist Church, and was baptized by evangelist Robert G. Lee on October 23, 1927. She graduated from Memminger High School, class of 1934, and was President of Vota Vita Young People's Department under the tutelage of Mrs. J.C. Mosell. Mrs. Gearhart was a member of Charleston Heights Baptist Church for over 20 years, and was active in the Sunday School. She was employed at F.W. Woolworth in the program office staff. Mrs. Gearhart is survived by her brother: Judge Clarence E. Singletary of Moncks Corner SC; daughters: Charlotte G. McCants (Alan) of Manassas VA, and Ellen L. Gearhart of Hanahan SC; grandsons: Andrew P. McCants (Linda) of Bristow VA, and Brian A. McCants (Sally) of Columbia SC; great granddaughters: Berkeley Abigail, and Leah Michaele. She was preceded in death by her husband, Berkley A. Gearhart. Interment following in Carolina Memorial Park. on June 22, 2011.¹

Interment will be at Riverview Memorial Park Cemetery, 3715 Azalea Drive, North Charleston. Charlotte was born April 16, 1944 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late Berkley Andrew Gearhart and the late Irene Singletary Gearhart. Charlotte was a graduate of Chicora High School and the College of Charleston. She previously worked at the Atlanta Public Library, the US Government Printing Office in Washington, DC and Signal Hill Elementary School in Manassas. She loved cooking, gardening, reading and family camping trips. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Manassas. In addition to her husband Alan, she is survived by two sons, Brian Alan McCants (Sally) of Columbia, SC and Andrew Paul McCants (Linda) of Bristow, VA; five grandchildren, Berkeley McCants, Claire McCants, Allison McCants, Rebecca McCants and Leah Hug; and sister, Ellen Louise Gearhart of Hanahan, SC.² She was buried at Riverview Memorial Park, 3715 Azalea Drive, North Charleston, Charleston Co., South Carolina.² She was born on April 16, 1944 at Charleston, Charleston Co., South Carolina.² As of September 3, 1966,her married name was McCants.³ She married Alan Lipscomb McCants on September 3, 1966 at Charleston, Charleston Co., South Carolina.^1,2,4,3 Charlotte Anne Gearhart died on January 25, 2024 at Virginia at age 79.²
