He was a devoted employee of Carters Industrial Laundry for over 30 years. His Faith in God and Family will define his memory for years to come. He loved the Lord and served as a Deacon in his church for many years. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years, Gloria, and is survived by daughters Sharon Kiessling, Deborah Mooney and her husband Patrick, Cinderella Soper and her husband Bill, and Kimberly Wilkerson. He is also survived by grandchildren Teri Long and her wife Tina, Brian Adams and his wife Karen, Billy and Chris Meador and wife Jessica, James Wilkerson, Jr. and his wife Stephanie, Mike and Chris Mooney and his wife Kymbrye, great-grandchildren Jeremiah Soper, Tré, Max and Gauge Wilkerson, Jackson Meador, Ryan and Matthew Meador, and Bexlye Mooney. Following his employment with Harris & Ewing, he accepted a position as a file clerk with the Federal Communications Commission, where he eventually became a congressional liaison until he retired in 1989, after 30 years. He enjoyed singing barbershop style music and belonged to the Washington, D.C., chapter of the Chord Foundation, a quartet, for five years. He also enjoyed playing bridge, which continued into retirement when he became involved in playing the card game online. Through Internet bridge, he met people from all over the world at a bridge convention in Las Vegas. He was predeceased by his parents, Albert and Sallie Leslie Gearheart; two sisters, Rasteen Moore and Elizabeth Dreschler; and three brothers, Melvin, Ray and Dennis Gearheart. He is survived by two sons, Garry Allen and William Mason, both of Allentown, Pa; a sister, Gloria Kiessling, of Waldorf; his partner, Edward Sherman, of Elkridge; and many nieces and nephews. on October 26, 2006.4

Mason Gearheart and wife Dawn of New Tripoli; grandchildren, Justin Gearheart and wife Ashley and Kierra wife of Nathan Stokes; great grandchildren, Ava, Jacob, and Casey.
