After returning home from the war, Moe served as Chief Estimator of the American Viscose Corp. He later co-founded Howell & Shirley Realtors. He was an avid golfer and was a longtime member of Blue Hills Golf Club. He also enjoyed woodworking. Moe is survived by his wife of 62 years, Hazel S. Howell; one son and daughter-in-law, Don and Sandy Howell; one daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Barry Young; two grandsons, Justin Deacon and Jamie Young; two sisters, Doris Hurd and Lorraine Dillon and husband, Charlie; one brother, Carleton Howell; and many other relatives and friends. The family wishes to express their thanks to the staff of Friendship Manor for their care of Moe which has been his home for the last eight years. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Monday, November 12, 2007 at Oakey's East Chapel with Chaplain Fred H. Ellsworth officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 11, 2007 from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. at Oakey's East Chapel, 540-977-3909. on November 11, 2007.2

She is survived by her beloved and devoted son and daughter-in-law, Douglas L. Hurd and Rose Hurd; her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa H. Holmes and Gerald Holmes; grandchildren, Chris Hurd and wife, Carrie, Jordan N. Holmes, Heather Kern and husband, Justin and their children, Aiden and Layla, Wilbert Overfelt and his wife, Summer, with their children, Dixie, Kadin, Kylie and Kash, Jonathan Overfelt and his wife, Katie with their children, Cameron and Ian, Airelle Overfelt and her child, Cailyn Booth, and Brett Barber and his wife, Allison; one sister-in-law, Hazel Howell, and nephews and nieces. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Our Lady of the Valley nursing home for all the care and love that was shown to Doris during her five year stay. A graveside funeral service will be held 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2015, at the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Roanoke Va., with the Pastor Dan Freeland officiating. on April 18, 2015.4
