He also enjoyed playing bridge, which continued into retirement when he became involved in playing the card game online. Through Internet bridge, he met people from all over the world at a bridge convention in Las Vegas. He was predeceased by his parents, Albert and Sallie Leslie Gearheart; two sisters, Rasteen Moore and Elizabeth Dreschler; and three brothers, Melvin, Ray and Dennis Gearheart. He is survived by two sons, Garry Allen and William Mason, both of Allentown, Pa; a sister, Gloria Kiessling, of Waldorf; his partner, Edward Sherman, of Elkridge; and many nieces and nephews. on October 26, 2006.⁴
