She was a graduate of Widen High School. Jerry was a nurse at Sutton Hospital, and with Dr. Hutchinson in Sutton. She and her husband later operated Leavitt's Home Supply. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Sutton. She is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Estell Paxton, siblings Elsie, Beatrice, John, Nina, Gertrude, Edward, Helen, husband Col. Dale L. Leavitt and great grandson Hayes. She is survived by her daughter Rev. Helga Hallett (Martin), grandson Nathan Hallett (Ashley) and great grandchildren Hadessah and Jace. The family is eternally grateful for faithful neighbors and loving caregivers who helped during Jerry's illness. Burial will be held at the Sutton Town Cemetery.8 She was born on May 7, 1927 at Elkhurst, Clay Co., West Virginia.2,8 As of June 10, 1946,her married name was Buck.9 She married Robert D. Buck on June 10, 1946 at Scotch Mills, Camden Co., North Carolina.9 Gladys Geraldine Paxton and Robert D. Cox Sr., 96, of Corton went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Oct. 11, 2007, at Shafer's Professional Care Home, Clendenin, after a short illness. Mr. Cox was retired from Union Carbide after 31 years of service and loved to hunt, fish and ginseng. He was the son of the late David C. and Frances Van Camp Cox and was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Ruth Cox; brothers, Ward, James and George Cox; and daughter, Margaret F. Summers. Jesse is survived by his son, Jesse M. "Buddy" Cox of Myrtle Beach, S.C; son-in-law, Harold I. Summers of Procious; grandchildren, Karen Hodges, Jeff Summers, Lisa Cox and Craig Cox; four great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; and 10 stepgrandchildren. Burial will be in Hills Cemetery, Barren Creek Road, Clendenin. The family would like to thank the staff at Shafer's Professional Care Home, Clendenin, for providing such wonderful care. on October 12, 2007.2

He was previously married to the mother of his children, Billie Jean (Turner) Brown, who survives in Petersburg, WV. Mr. Brown was a 1966 graduate of Sutton High School. He was a Veteran of the US Army, where he served as a Sergeant in charge of teletype and deciphering during the Vietnam War. David had worked at Island Creek Coal Company and later retired from Consol Coal Company. He was a member of United Mine Workers of America and Mountaintop Hunting Club. He was an avid gold and gun collector who always enjoyed the thrill of making a good deal. In addition to the mother of his children, Mr. Brown is survived by a son, Ryan Andrew Brown (Charity Hix) of Charleston, WV; a son-in-law, Joshua Kile of Maysville, WV; 3 sisters, Teresa Durst (Randy) of Elk Garden, WV, Teresha Cosner (Larry) of Gormania, WV, and Vanessa Brown of Gormania, WV; 2 brothers, Gary Brown (Debra), and Donnie Brown (Joyce), both of Gormania, WV; and 3 grandchildren, McKeyin Stone Kile, Taylor Jordan Kile, and Shaylee Nicole Kile, all of Maysville, WV. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Jami Nicole Kile; and his aunt Nina Stout, who had a large role in his upbringing.2 He married Billie Jean Turner.2 David William Brown was born on April 28, 1948 at Charleston, Kanawha Co., West Virginia.2 He died on June 16, 2021 at Maysville, Grant Co., West Virginia, at age 73.2
