He was honorably discharged on July 30, 1946. Marvin was united in marriage to Lila Bell Knox on January 6, 1948 at the Buffalo Baptist Church in Buffalo, Oklahoma. They made their first home in Buffalo and to this union they were blessed with four children, Kathy June, Debbie Dianne, Marvin Eugene, and Tina Marie. The family lived in numerous places all over Kansas where Marvin built bridges and mobile homes. The family moved back to Oklahoma in 1988 and have lived here since that time. He was a member of the New Horizon United Methodist Church. Marvin enjoyed dancing, reminiscing with his friends, working on lawn mowers, playing cards and spending time with his grandkids and his special little buddy Cole Parker. He always loved a good joke. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lila Buss of the home; three daughters, Kathy Mason and husband Greg of Halstead, Kansas, Debbie Smith and husband Dave of Hutchinson, Kansas, Tina Whitworth and husband Carl of Woodward; children adopted by heart, Cindy and Jimmy Hanke of Newton, Kansas; one brother Bob Buss and wife Ramona of Woodward; brother-in-law, Billy Knox and wife Delores of Oregon; two sisters Ruby Jordan and husband Royce of Buffalo, Jackie Turner of Kansas City, Missouri; sister-in-law Bonnie Wares and husband Wayne of Freedom; 11 grandchildren, Larry Oviatt, Darcy Oviatt and wife Becky, Shandi Turner and husband Mike, Angela Flory and husband J.D., Amy Whitmer and husband Jamie, Tonya Bradshaw, Nathan Porter, Austin Whitworth, Karlie Whitworth, Jeremy Buss and Robby Buss and wife Ginger; 15 great-grandchildren; a very special buddy Cole Parker; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 11, 2020 at the First United Methodist Church with Reverend Jeff Ralston and Reverend Donnetta Hunter officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home. Lila Bell (Knox) Buss was born on December 19, 1929 in Edith, Oklahoma to Clarence Edward and Lottie Mary (Dixon) Knox. She grew up in Freedom and graduated from Freedom High School. Lila was united in marriage to Marvin Lemuel Buss on January 6, 1948 at the Buffalo Baptist Church in Buffalo, Oklahoma. They made their first home in Buffalo and to this union they were blessed with four children, Kathy June, Debra Diane, Marvin Eugene, and Tina Marie. Lila and Marvin met at a dance and danced all of their lives. They enjoyed times with friends - old and new. Family time was the most important to them. The family lived in numerous places all over Kansas but moved back to Oklahoma in 1988. After Marvin died in 2010, Lila continued working until she was 88 years old. Her last job was at Carlitos Cafe. She enjoyed reading, puzzling, games and anything with her family. She also went to the gym three times a week until October of 2019. Lila loved spending time with her children and especially her grandchildren.
