Herbert Franklin Meeks was buried at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Norfolk, Virginia.2 His Social Security Number was 230-01-5349.3 He was born on January 18, 1921 at Boston, Massachusetts.2,3,4,5 He married Christine Hundley Smith, daughter of Clarence Leslie Smith and Maude Ruth Shomo, on October 2, 1943 at Camden Co., North Carolina.1 Herbert Franklin Meeks died on November 16, 2005 at South Boston, Halifax Co., Virginia, at age 84.2,3,6,5 He Herbert Franklin Meeks died at Halifax Regional Hospital Nov. 16, 2005. He was born in Boston, Mass., Jan. 18, 1921, to Thomas J. and Eleanor E. Meeks. He grew up the son of two ministers in the Salvation Army Ministry. He is survived by his daughter, Donna L. Meeks; granddaughter, Christine Lena Kennon and grandson, Joshua Robert Kennon. Also, he is survived by his brother, Roy E. Meeks; and sisters, Frances Ragan, Ruth F. Wieting and Violet Bradford. Mr. Meeks married the late, Christine Hundley Smith in 1942 and had one daughter, Donna Leigh. Mr. Meeks was a World War II veteran in the Naval branch of service to his country. He lived in Virginia Beach most of his life. He was a recent resident of South Boston, Va., in the area where his daughter and grandchildren reside. Mr. Meeks was an apprentice/machinist in the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. After retirement he was self employed and enjoyed woodworking both as a living and a hobby. The family would like to encourage all who read this that we were not made for time but for eternity as we celebrate his homecoming today. Memorial services will be held at Woodlawn Funeral Home, Norfolk chapel, followed by graveside service to celebrate his entrance to heaven. on November 18, 2005.2

William Bryan "Bud" Hall, 64, of 516 Sunnybrook Road, Fairfield, Va., went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, February 16, 2009 at Augusta Medical Center in Fishersville, Va. Born February 3, 1945, in Clifton Forge, Va., he was a son of the late William Houston "Kinkie" Hall and Sybil Lawler Hall. He was a 1963 graduate of Clifton Forge High School and received a bachelor of theology in 1979 from Hyles Anderson College in Hammond, Ind. He was currently pastor of Faith Mountain Baptist Church in Lexington, Va., having served there for 10 years, and was formerly pastor of Peoples Baptist Church in Mansfield, Ohio, and Deerfield Baptist Church in Deerfield. He was also employed by Lawrence Transportation Systems in Roanoke for 11 years and was part owner of Hall Transfer and Storage in Clifton Forge, which was the family business. He was an avid UVA fan. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Nancy Capps Hall, of Fairfield; three children, Christopher B. Hall and fiance, Susan Cahoon, of Clifton Forge, Shannon H. McGhee and husband, Matt, of Moneta, and Matthew H. Hall and wife, Tracey, of Warm Springs; a sister, Victoria H. Broughman and husband, Sonny, of Richmond; two brothers, John L. "Gemmer" Hall and wife, Kim, of Eagle Rock, and Gregory L. Hall and wife, Sheryl, of Fincastle; six grandchildren, Tori Shlanta, Alyssa McGhee, Kylee Hall, Kenzie Hall, Nicole Broughfman, and Taylor Broughfman; his mother-in-law, Elsie Capps, of Clifton Forge; brother-in-law, Benny Capps and wife, Sandra, of Covington; sister-in-law, Geneva Welch and husband, Roger, of Flint Hill; and nieces and nephews, Lance Broughman, Jennifer Aghazadeh, John Hall, Nathan Hall, Jason Miller, Jayson Capps, Ryan Welch, and Courtney Harrington.
