In the presence of family, Pat passed away peacefully at home after a lengthy illness with complications from diabetes. Pat was born Sept. 18, 1934, in Lawton, Okla., to John Henry and Iva Mae Duck Jones. When Pat was 18 months old, her father passed away. Four years later, Pat was blessed with her "daddy" when Iva married Vernon "Dilly" Carson Dillahunty. Pat was raised and attended schools in Lawton. No matter where she lived she always considered Lawton, "home." She was a retired beauty operator and homemaker. Pat married Hubert Lovell Huffman, Feb. 24, 1969. He preceded her in death Feb. 9, 1999. She and Hubert shared 30 years of love and enjoyed their family, friends, travel, fishing, mini-sprint car races, playing cards, gambling and Oklahoma Sooner football. Their travels to visit family and friends were cherished times. Together they always went to see their newly born great-grandbabies and to see their grandchildren and great-grandchildren participate in their various sports, cheerleading and school activities. Pat continued this tradition after Hubert passed away. Pat was baptized in 1990 at the Eight and Lee Church of Christ in Lawton. She was a member of Ladies Auxiliary VFW # 1193, Lawton, Okla; Chapter # 39 Eastern Star, Duncan, Okla; and a recipient of the Grand Cross of Colors for distinguished services from the Order of the Rainbow for Girls. We know Pat protects us as she watches from above. Our beloved mother, nanny, great-nanny(granny grump), sister, aunt and friend, Patricia, we love you and will miss you greatly. We have been blessed to have you in our lives. Patricia leaves to treasure her memory five children and their spouses, the Rev. Reina / Ramona Lucero and the Rev. Alan Hinton of Suisun City, Calif., Buddy and LouAnn Lucero of Lawton, Okla., Pam and Billy Johnson of Cross Lanes, Vernon and Debbie Lucero of Dallas, Ga, Sharra "Sherry" Huffman of Hurricane; 10 grandchildren and their spouses Tammy and Dave Denkins of Hurricane, Stacey Lucero of Lawton, Okla., Shawna and Jason Chandler of Hurricane, Jill and Chris Long of Cache, Okla., Chris and Autumn Lucero of Dallas, Ga., Bree Chandler of Rochester, N.Y., Jeremy Lucero and Jon Lucero of Dallas, Ga, Shea Lucero of Cache, Okla., Brandon and Brandi Isom of Oklahoma City, Okla; 10 great-grandchildren, David and Katie Denkins and Clay Chandler of Hurricane, Skyler Lucero of Cache, Okla., Carson and Brandon Lucero and Jared Lucero of Dallas, Ga., Layni and Tanner Lucero of Lawton, Okla., and Oakley Isom of Oklahoma City, Okla. Pat is also survived by her only sister, Bartina Peoples of Catoosa, Okla; brother-in-law, Raymond Harold Huffman and wife, Kaye of St. Albans, W.Va; sister-in-law, Pat Perks and husband, George of Red House; and mother-in-law, Thelma Davis-Huffman of Kanawha City; nephews and nieces, Jim Peoples of Tulsa, Okla., Billy E. Huffman Jr. of St. Albans, Shelia Jarrett of Pinch, Gail Huffman of Dunbar, Stephanie Walker of St. Albans, Brandon and Danielle Haves of New Berlin, Wis., Shelbe and Jayme Peoples of Catoosa, Okla., and Mikael Huffman of Dunbar. Other surviving family are, Ed Huffman of Cross Lanes, Frank and Fran Walls of Lutherville, Ga., Jann and Al Fraser and children, Brian, Patrick, Stephanie, Samantha, and Alfred of Cache, Okla; and many cousins and friends across the country. Patricia will be remembered as a woman with a strong and deep love for her family and will be dearly missed for her love, support, encouragement and devotion. The family gratefully acknowledges and would like to express their heartfelt thanks for the vigilant support and care during Pat's illness. To her team of doctors, guided by Dr. James Akins; Dr. Akins' office staff; the nursing, aide and physical therapy personnel at Putnam General Hospital; Kanawha Valley Hospice; and the many friends who provided prayer, food, phone calls, cards, encouragement and solace. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 1, 2008, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. Nahum Balser officiating. Burial with Masonic graveside rites will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. on September 29, 2008.5

Billy Edward Huffman, 43 of 618 Belle Dr., was pronunced dead on the scene following the 2:50 a.m. accident, a spokesman for the Kanawha County Sheriff Department said. The other man involved in the accident Paul E Lane Jr., 24 of Poca, was not injured. Lane was charged with driving under the influence and driving right of center lane, the spokesman said Lane was arraingned in Kanawha County Magistrate Court saturday and released on $1,000 property bond, a court spokesman said. According to the sheriffs department, the accident occured when Lane who was driving west on WV 25, slipped into the opposing lane of traffic hitting Huffman's truck head on. Huffman was assistant body shop foreman for Moses Cadillac-Buick-GMC Truck Inc. and was a coach for a girls softball team in the St. Albans Parks and Recoration League. He was a life long resident of Kanawha County. Surving wife Patrica McCormick Huffman son, Airman 1st Class Billy Edward Huffman Jr., stationed in Turkey daughter Laura Gail Huffman at home, Father Rev. Lovell G.
